Never understood why they pulled The Golf Channel. I assumed it was something to do with Setanta. A lot of it was rubbish but it had stuff you could watch when nothing else was on. And the informercials were always hilarious... I'd forgotten they still have the TV Shop and might watch that. I could do with a laugh.

That is true Josh. I meant pulled from Sky... hence my comment about Setanta as I assume that's the package you need to get access to it.

Anybody remember Colorvision? Shops all over the place then lost their HP facility for about a month and went bust immediately. As a Widnes RL Fan, it would really sadden me to see the pie-eaters without a stadium or sponsor

JJB going bust? I'm sure that this can't be so. I've been watching Bruce Parry's trip down the Amazon since it started and all of the remote and barely known tribes seem to wear an endless supply of Adidas teeshirts and nylon shorts. Surely this means that there has to be numerous branches of JJB stores stretching the length and breadth of the Amazonian rain forrest. There also appears to be a Nike shoeshop chain as well. All of these stores appear to do a roaring trade if the apparell of the local indigenous tribes are anything to go by. Hack'em

Hack'em, that just goes to show that chavs actually give more clothes to charity than the so-called upper-middle classes - when did you last see an indigenous tribesman in Harris tweed? And is there any store on the High Street that isn't on the verge of going bust? To return to the OP, the only thing at JJB within your budget I'd even cross the street for is Taylor Made Burner TP balls @ £20 a dozen.

Apparently, JD Sports is doing pretty well (much smaller scale than JJB). JD Sports concentrate on just selling sports gear rather than the bargain basement stuff. JJB and SportsWorld have the Lidl stigma associated with them (particularly Sportsworld). I think JJB have been hit by England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 - their deal to sell the England shirt became pretty worthless.

Maybe they will join Sport & Ski/Sport and Soccer/Sportsworld/Whatever they are called this week and have a Closing down sale - 1 week left for the next 15 years.
