ok right i was reading your silly replies, and getting bored surfing the net for fixes, and started doign some pratice take aways in my bedroom. and wasnt dipping and i was thinking how come i aint dipping?

well in my pratice swing i dont use the knee kick to start my swing, and amazing as it sounds that knee kick was sending a signal to my brain that its golf swing time so time to take away on the inside and dip like mad.

so i didnt knee kick ( found it hard to start the swing at first!!) and concentrated on slow down the line takeaway ( which feels like its seriously outside)  and keping my head still.

best ball striking ever draws straights most consitent ever 120 balls i reckon 110 draw or straight

Your not another moderator closing threads are you

Josh, I do admire your constant drive for perfection, searching for the picture book swing.

There are many world class golfers who dip when striking the ball (and more idiosyncrasy's),perhaps you should settle for something a little less picture book -to my untrained eye it looks pretty good- as did Trevino, Floyd and more up-to-date Darcy and the Indian tour player( I cannot think of his name) who looks like a high single figure handicapper!

The striking of the ball is what matters.

yes but, i didnt say oh dipping looks stupid i wnt to fix it.

dipping that far forward meant my plane was alot flatter straight away because if i didnt take the club behind me to counter balance the weight i would fall flat on my face.

Then coming into impact cause of the dip i was much closer to the ball than i was at adress, so my body to compensate me either hitting the club straight into the ground or totaly missing it, has to straigten up so i can actually hit the ball.

this obvioulsy leads to big inconstency as my body wont move the exact same way each time, in its efort to compensate.

my pro said to me today you are now stuck, if you dont fix this flaw, you will never get better than you are.

lets hope ive fixed it will set up the camera tommrow and find out

Just read your thread Josh, i had a lesson with very similar probs on retaining spine angle.

First move was weight on my toes, then at impact i stood up. Hitting it right with a active right had getting it back on line.

Pro gave me a drill which really helps.

Get a elastic cord, wrap it round your waste cross ends over and hold each end, with a little tension. Have arms straight with elbows in, feeling connection at arm pits.

How look in mirrow as you turn back and forward keeping same spine angle thru the sequence, most important at impact.

Described the hub of the swing been angle formed by T line down back and thru waist, if it moves it gets a lot harder to compensate.

Hope this makes sense.

Did you have a leaderboard ? what did you think of it?

I'm a firm believer that there are two golf swings out there:

1) The illusionary perfect golf swing.

and

2) The perfect golf swing for you.

Just food for thought really. I stopped chasing the illusionery  perfect swing and settled on the perfect swing for me

If that makes sense (which normally I don't).....

I see what you mean. However the perfect swing for you might be dependent on how much time you want to invest in it.

I'm sure all of us would be great golfers if we achieved a technically great swing like Adam Scott.

Golf isn't about great swing. I caddied for this guy a few years back and his golf swing was terrible and he hit the ball poorly. Some how though he got the ball in the hole and had a handicap of something like 12.

i dont care what my swing looks like, i cant see it. i jsut want the ball to fly off the face of my club in a straight line at the target i intend.

anyway just about to put a video up of todays swing

we should change the name of this forum to make Josh better
