Are they Hybrids?

I know this may sound like a totally remedial question to ask, but I am new to golf:

I'm using a Dunlop Vista 2 set and on the club head the 1,3 and 5 woods all say 'Hybrid Titanium'.

Are they hybrids?

Hope I haven't raised anyones blood pressure by missing the obvious!

I don't think so.

They are a driver and fairway woods but by putting "titanium" on the club they imply they are top quality. They are not titanium and they are not top quality, I suspect the hybrid titanium is marketing speak.

I hope this helps.

Hybrids are a club which in general where designed to replace the long irons (because they are so difficult to hit). They can look like fairway woods but tend to have shorter shafts.

But good enough for a beginner?

I'm really happy with them.

I take it this was part of your £700 spending spree in JJB. Oh lore. What I could do with £700 to spend on golf.

"hybrid titanium" is in fact a metal alloy containing a small titanium %

it is marketing bullshit conning you into thinking you got something "a titanium driver" which you haven't

No-one said they weren't... Wee Stevie said you'd be probably be looking to replace them within a year. If you intend to play regularly he's almost certainly right.

I suspect they were cheap... £70 for the set? So you can't go wrong really.
