What would you suggest? My budget isn't too great.

That's a really tricky one as there is nothing in your bag that is more personal to you than your putter.

There are a number of things to consider including cash available, type of stroke you have, any previous preferences to relate to.

Everyone on here will have a different call.

Let me be honest- I'm just learning to play and haven't used a putter yet - but the one that was in my bag got stolen out of my car during a boot sale!

Your best bet will be to go to a large pro shop / golf store and try every putter then go with the one that feels best.

You dont necessarily have to buy a new one if your budget is limited just find one you like and then look on ebay / golfbidder.

and don't think you have to pay a lot of money for a  brand name.

Was Walker said, try a few out use the one that feels comfortable for you within your price range.  There are plenty of clones of the big names around which may suit you perfectly well.

Don't just buy any putter, its important you try the different shaft type putters ie. heel shafted, center shafted, etc, before you commit to any putter, I played with a couple of heel shafted putters (3 yrs total) before I found out I much prefered a center shafted putter.

Go to a place were they have a large selection of putters, and spend about a hour or so trying all types out (don't feel obliged to buy!!), then leave and see if you can find something cheaper on the web that you will like. (the putter is the most individual club in the bag)

James, I would give IronWRX a shout, can Pimp your Putter for £20-£30, balancing, Grip to suit you. So could get a cheap putter. What area of the country are you in?

just make sure you create a repeatable set up position and fit to that
you need to like the look , weight feel etc

dont get sucked into the blurb of grooves and roll etc - you can pretty much use anything

What exactly is IronWRX? And where can I find them online?

Cheers.
