 My 1st Video
Sorry im having problems with youTube... uploaded it but cant find it anywhere.... No Sign of it in my account?
Anyway..... Although i seam to have a fairly good swing.. its amazing how you can see your faults when you watch yourself back..
my notes: Stance: My spine is bent, leaving me a little too low over ball with my hands a little too low. bad alignment.. feet point left, club head points straight..
Swing Basic take away seams fine.. with a longer back swing than i thought.. my biggest problem is my body ends up facing past the target to the left, on some swings not featured in this video i almost ending up facing with my back to the target..
I welcome any more comments...
Thanks Paul.

from watching your video id say most of your power loss comes from your open stance and poor weight transfer/balance. note how you rotate through on the heel of your left foot rather than pushing your weight through onto the ball of the foot, it may also be the reason for you turning so far through the finish.

Thanks Hoss.. Thats a Good Point... and probably the root cause of the over rotation...

I hate you , you get so many things wrong yet look so bloody good getting it wrong, as you say too much spine angle plus head too far down , get yer chin up , look down your nose at ball, arms look bent but straighten before impact , right shoulder looks to come round not under chin , to be honest it looks like your clubs are too short for you. But what do I know, I still hate you , I put my swing up a few days ago and it doesn't look like yours , no , I'm not telling you where , My Pro could sort you out no problem , he failed with me but you , no problem.

Widen your stance. You dont seen to have any distance between your feet, especially with the driver. Get a good width and grounded stance which will help you with your over rotation. Bend from the hips and not with your back. The top of your back seems to be almost haunched over. Think of it as sitting on the edge of a bar stool or bowing to the ball rather that bending to reach it. This helps to keep a good spine angle with which to swing around your body. You have a "chicken wing" on follow through which means that you aren't getting the proper extension and therefore losing distance. This is something that I battle with also. There are more but these seem to stand out the most to me

Thanks Guys.. I think this is probably the best investment ive ever made, last season i just treaded water and although i thought i was getting better, my scores remained about the same until the very end of the season.
Now armed with a camcorder, i can actually see my main problems.
Yes i noticed the driver stance was way too narrow and my alignment seams to be way open, hence im not getting the through the ball with my body.. (almost cutting across it)
I agree i need to bend from the hips...
Not sure what a chiken wing is tho..
my main goals for my next driving range trip is to sort out the alignment, Stance & Spine Angle Issues then i`ll Re Capture my Swing and See if ive improved and work on what else is wrong.. Thanks Again For the Comments Guys

The "Chicken Wing" is where your target side elbow (left arm for right handed golfers like me and you) breaks down through impact and moves away from your body. What you want to be seeing is something like this with the left arm straight all through impact with full extension
To be honest the best thing you can do is find a good competent pro and get lessons. Self analysis just doesn't produce the results that proper lessons will. Best of luck anyway

I thought the "chicken wing" was when the right elbow (for a right-handed player) lifts away from the body on the backswing?

ben, it can relate to either side and the effect is basically the same, both predispose an out to in swing path with an opening of the club face.

That swing doesn't look very clever at all. Are you sure your handicap is 14? (you claimed you were a 12 handicapper previously and going round some courses in the 70's) That swing doesn't stand up to those claims IMHO.

The guy that posted his swing playing off 23 the other day has a much better swing. I think someone is telling porkies.

Playing at College Pines, Worksop, Tomorrow, room for 1 more if anyone is interested tee-time 12:07pm
That previous post has reminded me, i must get 'a load of balls' for the driving range before we tee off Paul

 bloody weather !!
Ive been looking at my swing with the aid of V1 Home Swing Analysis Software which is a free download & is pretty good.
Its apparent from drawing a line through my swing plane that i dont bring the club back on plane through inpact as my hands have moved forward away from my body giving the club a steeper angle than my address position.
also it looks as if i take the club back a little too much on the inside when starting my backswing..
So i have lots to work on, now i need is some 1/2 decent weather so i can go work on it!
oh how i wish i had a big basement
