I've just had a week's golf in the sun and played pretty well apart from my short game - anyone know of any good weekend golf schools where you can go and get expert tuition on shipping, picthing, bunker play, etc.

Hi Laurence,dont know if you are any good at following written instructions.A few weeks ago I came across a very good short game instruction book.It was written by a short game "Guru" from the States,called Stan Utley.Many of the guys on the PGA tour are making a bee line for his help.He is also currently working with Darren Clarke Paul McGinley and Peter Jacobsen.This book has really brought my short game on by leaps and bounds.I got it on Amazon.co.uk,think it cost about £12 .In terms of shelling out for lessons i think this is a great buy,if nothing else. it is a great read with some really interesing insights into how the pros work on their short game.Hope this is of some help in your search.let me know if I can be of any further help regards Roman

Mind you still worth it at that,for me it is a brand new way of looking at the short game.This guy really simplifies it.I think a lot of pros who teach and write, try to complicate the matter to create a kind of mysticism.All this of course adds to their value.To me I,ve never seen the BIG advantage in getting the ball running as quickly as poss,always prefered the aerial root.
