Just thought I'd let you chaps know about a new mag. It's sort of a cross between Today's Golfer and Loaded! The "Bunker Babes" are a bit special. Anyone else seen it yet?

I was wandering around Hemel Hempstead on Friday (don't ask) and found myself in WH Smiths reading this and had a read - was a bit of fun really.

Although this does link nicely to a thread dicussing worst caddies. There was a small article in their about a company that provides rather sexy caddies, not sure it would help the golf but sure wouldn't bo so angry when playing badly!

I bought Golf Punk a couple of weeks ago thoroughly enjoyed it! They are trying to debunk the myth that golf is a sport for old farts and they also take a *ahem* somewhat irreverent view of the game.

Its interesting that loaded is mentioned as the magazine editor roots are in the loaded magazine. I think the mag is mainly aimed at the under 35 golfer.

From the publishers:

GOLF PUNK, a bi-monthly publication, is targeted at the 48% of golfers who are aged 15-34 years old, and whose needs are not currently being recognised or addressed in the UK magazine market place. GOLF PUNK aims to revolutionise the world of golf publishing, which is currently biased towards a +44 year old readership.

GOLF PUNK is a celebration of all things great about golf. We are following the new, exciting generation of golf professionals who are hitting the fairways and bringing a new individualism to the sport. The magazine will also have a celebrity focus and feature such self confessed golf junkies as Will Smith, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, Colin Farrell and David Beckham to name a few.

GOLF PUNK has gathered together a team of award winning writers including Lawrence Donegan, Gavin Newsham, Tom Cox, Iestyn George, Will McCulloch and Ben Marshall.

Golf fashion has been revolutionised with Prada, Burberry, Hillfiger joining established golf fashion houses such as J Lindeberg, Hugo Boss and Pringle in launching their own golf ranges. Photographers for GOLF PUNK include Jorgen Ahlstrom, Steven Oxenbury, Simon Leigh and Michael Birt.

In terms of golf magazine publishing, Golf Punk will be like turning your black & white TV into colour. But it is much more than that. Golf Punk is a lifestyle in itself, providing a long overdue rallying point for the golf punk generation.

As Bill Murray says in Caddyshack – “Cinderella story – outta nowhere”

Played a round yesterday, and tried many bunkers, they didn't have the same obstructions as advertised in the mag - how unfortunate! I also saw the article about the caddies for rent, something definitely worth considering for the next corporate day!

Found the mag ok (I am in the supposed 18-35 year old target group) but one thing puzzled me.
In golf parlance what is a pawnbroker?
Looked around but could not find anything on this.
And I really would like a new set of ping's.
(I Know I probably won't win but I really have no idea what a pawnbroker is!!)

p.s More of the Bunker babes and Golf Nurse.
