Had a fitting session last night for my driver which I leak high and right and after playing about with several shafts found the Mitsibushi Diamana Blueboard (was in a D2 titleist0 absolutley perfect fit for me.

Any idea where I can purchase one in regular flex and 0.350 parallell tip? Would aslo have the spine marked on it.

Cheers DD

Not available in a .350 tip in it's true form but can be installed into these heads.

What head are you looking to fit it in to?

Looking to put it in my Bobby Jones player series head, it is available from a ping shaft pull I see, and you can get .335 to .350 adaptors I think.

Just love the head but the shaft (a YS-60 is not for me)

DD,

The combination of your Bobby Jones head and the shaft in question is going to be different to the combination of the D2 head and said shaft.

Amazing price!  The WHOLESALE price of the shaft alone (if genuine) is 50% more than you paid for the entire driver. Some golf equipment dealers appear to be almost giving their stock away in the recession just to get some cash flowing into their businesses. There are genuine bargains to be had.

Buyers need to be extremely careful though as, due to the massive cost of top of the range shafts, counterfeits are beginning to appear. We've seen it big time with heads, now it's also  time to be wary with top of the range shafts!

If the price is too good to be true then it very often is.

Hi,

Sorry to butt in but I was just wondering where you bought the 907 D2 with the Diamana Blue shaft from? I live in Spain and the best club I have ever ever ever hit was a Titleist head with that shaft (83g x-stiff) It was a hand me down from Alfredo Garcia Heredia to his brother and it was an absolutely awesome combination, like firing missiles but with the most tremendous balance and stability possible. It made the whole idea of golf a totally different game. Anyway, here I can only source that shaft and head and get it built for a small fortune, and at the moment the missus won´t be up for it! However, 99 pounds sounds incredible...therefore I couldn´t resist asking. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

For £99 it will be the made for Titleist Diamana....the one you mention at 83g sounds like it would be the aftermarket Diamana which cost anywhere between £100-£250 pounds. The made for titleist shafts arent as high spec as the aftermarket ones and you can tell the difference by the shaft markings, aftermarket diamanas have x5ct written on them and come in 63,73,83 weights, the made for titleists come in 65,75,85 if memory serves me correctly. If you are looking for a blueboard x5ct the best place to check is US ebay, i recently bought a whiteboard x5ct for £90. The majority of US sellers dont list their stuff internationally, but if you ask politely usually they will ship to the UK, though that can be guite expensive

Hi James,

Thanks for the comments. I had totally forgotten about this thread tbh! I am aware of the difference between the genuine shafts and the " xxx made for Titleist/Taylor Made/Ping etc" shafts and agree that there is a very perceptible distinction when you play them. In the end, I put a Grafalloy NT Comp Prototype 85 into a Cobra 440 SZ head (with a bit of leadweight to get to D4). Not too bad at all...not the same awesome feel as the diamana blue but beggars and all that. I´d still like to build a driver with a Diamana blue and here´s hoping I can in the new year. I´ll let you know what combo I decide on!! I was thinking about a Bang or Geek head, or one of those spectacular looking ones from tourspecgolf...

Hope you have a nice weekend, it´s a bit drizzly here at the moment, but still very mild temperatures as always. Fingers crossed the rain will cease by the time I get out of work at two and head off to my local course. 9 holes, couple of beers and a giggle with the lads...good start to the weekend!!

You can always try the Yahoo auctions here in Japan, although you'd have to be up on the lingo to deal with the bidding. You'd be amazed at the possible number of heads/shafts available since it's the done thing to have the gear of the year, but not necessairly any idea (^_^), and the 2nd hand market is a relatively new concept and people aren't too keen on the idea of having something that isn't vacuum packed when they buy it. So, for example, I bought a used Titleist 907D1 with a Rombax 7x07 S shaft for about £50 - can anyone beat that in the UK?
