have seen on fleabay a club refurbishment service for fifty of our english pounds (about a fiver in old money) and wondered if anyone has tried it?

My clubs are a set of old titleist 962's and the heads are looking a bit tatty so I am tempted to give it a go, but wondered if anyone has used the service or can recommend someone who does a similar thing

I have been looking in to doing the same thing. Most places would just want to sent them back to titliest. However, Titliest does not rechrome club in the uk.

There was a guy in north east london, he quoted me 15 pounds a club and he sent them golf smith to get rechrome. (this included lie and loft check)

Could you sent me the link to this refurbishment service?

Davy

Just had mine done at Direct Golf.

They gave them a nice clean and did a re-fit (in my case bending back to factory lies and lofts).  They did it for free with one of these e-mail vouchers that encourage you to spend a fortune while you wait (I went next door and had a coffee, much to the annoyance of the store manager ).

Quite honestly I noticed very little difference, other than the grips are feeling better than they have for quite some time and they were much cleaner.

£50 seems rather steep what are they offereing to do do ?  I would have thought that all they can really do is clean, maybe regrip and re-fit them.  If the heads have dents and dings in them I struggle to see what they can do about it.

Quite honestly (other than the re-fit) there was nothing they did that I could not have done.

Don't think they do rechroming, but they do sand blasting and polishing

they show a set similar to mine in the pictures and it does look like an improvement on the look of mine atm
