 Dear Golfers
Does anyone know if Titleist have forgot the average Amateur Golfer for Driver Demo Days?
I believe that my old 983K has come to the end of its VERY USEFUL life & would dearly like to be custom fit by a Titleist member of staff or the next best thing, an approved fitter & not some shop salesmen!!
The only thing that Titleist advertise on there web site, is Fitting Works Events, that accommodates Tee to Green & i'm only interested in tee (driver) fittings
Massive thanks for anyone who can shed some light on this
Regards & thanks

I think Titleist have gone with a "quick fit" trolley type thing with all their clubheads and a whole load of shafts that are quickly interchangable. Any Titleist stockist should have this trolley.

Thanks for your reply The only thing is, if this is Titleist's new approach, then how is the average amateur like me supposed to know what shaft etc.. best suites my game?
I know Taylor Made & a few other leading manufacturers are going down the adjustable weight concept for different ball flights, but does his mean the end of shaft technology? because what i understand about golf (not a lot), is the shaft is like an engine in a car. & as you probably understand, shafts are a minefield to understand!!!
Thats purely why i want to be custom fit by a Titleist Engineer/Specialist, cos they will get the best out of my game
Again, huge thanks or taking the time to respond m8
Regards

I can confirm Robo's answer. My club pro has has the fitting trolley for Titleist and I have to say it looks quite imrpesive. There are 3 head options and a whole load of shafts of different manufacture, stiffness and length. If you can't find a decent combination from that lot, you'd have to be really unlucky. I can't wait to try it. My 60th ain't too far away.

Saw a young guy at my range (essex if your near) being fitted for Titleist, huge trolly of heads and shafts with a launch monitor on an actual range, all looked pretty comprehensive to me, Not sure why he was being fitted as he was only managing constant 170 yards slight draws with a 6 iron

Jono, Titleist do have fitting centres - one of which is at Brampton Park GC near Huntingdon, Cambs. However, your club pro has to book the fitting session for you directly with Titleist. I recently got fitted for a 909D3 after my much loved 983E was destroyed by the baggage handlers at Malaga airport. The chaps at the fitting centre have all the latest technology and hundreds of shaft/head combinations to try. If you want you can also get a tour of the factory in St. Ives, Cambs. and you'll pick up a freebie glove and some balls - you can also play with the latest putters including some prototype models.

Jono, It's easy. You go in and see your club pro, or another one who is an authorised Titleist dealer. He will make a booking for you at Titleist in Cambridge, you are then fitted for whatever you want by the Titleist guys there. Superb, and around £30 I believe (could be out of date on the price). Clubs normally ready in a few days.

 |
Pasty, I wasn't charged a penny by my pro - but then I did order 2 clubs so maybe he swallowed the fee.
|
 |
I could be over a year out of date now, but last thing I knew there was def a fee. I think you've probably got it spot on.
|
 |
Actually now I think about it I was given a form to fill in my details and there was mention of a £20 charge. I'd hope that Titleist would waive this if clubs are ordered.

Wow, well impressed with ALL your answers gents Cant thank you enough, looks like Cambridge hear i come To be honest, whether its £20 or £30 pounds, its still cheaper than Callaways centre of excellence (or should i say Acushnet) in Surrey, where i was custom fitted for a complete set of irons last July. They wacked me for £50 Worst of all, I was told be the fitter that unofficially i will be contacted by Acushnet to be advised that they will refund my £50 charge Still waiting !!!!!! Anyway, massive thanks again. Essex (Lakeside Shopping Center) to Cambridge isn't that far for a Driver fitting that could give me more enjoyment than my wife gives me, is it ?? Thanks ALL

 |
Trip to Cambridge recommended. Just for the record Jono, Acushnet is the company that owns Titleist, Cobra and Footjoy.
|
 |
Yes, i've been looking after reading posts The Acushnet centers are obviously still individually picked, because i remember when i went to Chessington last July, they was also advertising Cobra & i'm sure Top-Flite too. But do not remember seeing Titleist too much
It seems that everyone is right, because I've done some more searching & Titleist's fitting center is only in St Ives, Cambridge Just like Callaway's fitting centre is Chessington
Thanks again

I've just managed to get an appointment at Brampton, Titleist's fitting centre; on 26th May. That is (a) terrible because I've got to wait 6 weeks for the session or (b) wonderful because it gives me 6 weeks to decide exactly how much stuff I'm going to buy. I fancy getting a driver i KNOW suits my swing and then sticking with it. I have two drivers at the moment; a D2 with proto vs shaft which I get on with and a Hibore XLS with the gold shaft, that I don't get on with. After a 909 with whatever shaft helps ne keep the ball down. The new titleist hybrids do look lovely .............

I was fit for a set of irons last year at Brampton Park. Didnt cost me a penny but cannot remember if there was a fee that was waived. If you get a morning fitting and state in advance your intention to place an order on the day (and Titleist have got the appropriate head, shaft and grip in stock) they can build your club whilst you do your factory tour and have it ready for you when you walk out of the door. (I didnt get any freebies though!) I had a fitting at 10:30am, a couple of pints and lunch at a nearby pub, factory tour at 2pm and at 3pm walked out of the factory with my nice new shiny ZB's. I was at my club by 5pm and at 8pm walked off the course carding a nice gross 72.
