I already have the Mizuno MP 001 Driver, 3 wood and 5 wood all with regular graphite shafts and I would like to get the 20º model of the new fli hi clk with a stiff graphite shaft. Am I right in thinking that since the shaft is shorter of the fli hi clk than it is on the woods then the stiff shaft would be a good option to go for?

Alan - I purchased the 20* CLK just yesterday (see post in thread "rescue & mid clubs")

went for the steel S300 shaft as it was what suited me best - all the graphite ones seemed too soft to me but end of day it's down to user preference.

9 holes this morning and used it several times (maybe more than I needed to) but kid with new toy and all that ! :) ... really is so easy to use I wouldn't have believed it , always been a bit sceptical of these things and maybe too much of a traditionalist in club / set make up to carry one - all I know is I found it so easy to use I couldn't hit a bad shot with it - conversely if I nowadays try to use a 2 or 3 iron I can't hit a good shot with them !!! :-)

I got the 17* model with stiff graphite shaft and used it for the first time on saturday. I hit it very well and was very surprised with the distance.
I got it to be a gap club between my MP.001 3 wood and my 3 iron but after hitting it probably should have got the 20* as I was only very slightly shorter with it than my 3 wood (which also has a stiff graphite shaft).

Just back from american golf. I was looking to try the s300 steel shaft but they didn't have any. I had a shot of the r300 instead. Wasn't giving it my all incase i done some damage. Measured my swing speed at 82 mph. Felt I could have swung a little faster. Was very impressed with the results. Do you think I should risk going for the s300 as I am going to change my mx15's with regular shafts to mx23's with s300 shafts next year?
