Has anyone bought one of the cheap alternatives to Powakaddy golf trolleys on e-bay? These are titled SUPER ELECTRIC GOLF TROLLEY POWER GOLF CART. These are retailing for Roughly about £120-£130 inc postage. They all offer 1 year guarantees and look great value. Some come with free cart bags, spare batteries, scorecards and raincovers. Just wondered about durability and any faults. Thankyou.

Couple of my mates have bought cheaper electic trolleys and all of them have rather dodgy balance and keep tipping over!! Sorry, don't know what make they are though. Personally, I use a hillbilly which are about £250.00. Had it three years and am just on second battery and had to change the switch once - customer service is excellent.
Good compromise for those who don't want to pay £400+ for Powacaddys

 i got one of the Srikers off ebay, and have to say its brilliant, although the other chap thats reviewed it says it not too hot. I've done a user review on it. Theres also a whole thread on them here where the general opinion is much much higher. http://www.golfmagic.com/forum/forummessages/mps/UTN/4096/URN/5/dt/4/srchdte/0/cp/1/v/1/sp/

 Mocad leccy trolleys are supposed to be quite good as well. I've been threatening getting one for some time but with the awful weather of late I've delayed getting one.
Bloke at my clu has the Mocad and I like the style and build quality looks really good as well.

 Melvyn Having been a long term user of these types of battery a warning for you. These batteries do not have a long life if you completely discharge them on a regular basis. They quickly reach a point where they are only good for nine or so holes if treated in this way.
My mate bought his off ebay last September and the battery is now knackered.

 Jim ,they will do more than 36 holes on a full charge so never completely discharge but good point tho,when anyone gets a new battery always best to charge it a little,then a little bit more,then a little bit more so the battery is broken in gently instead of roasting it,when it's used to being charged you can give it the full monty with impunity.

 Have to agree with Gil, for the price the field and Scott Strikers are excellent value for money.
They only two negative things that can be said about these trolleys are;
They are not light and the tyres could do with a bit more grip, other than that, hell, go get one, you'll pay almost as much for manaul pull trolley.
As for the fear of you looking like an asre on the course, any of your mates give you any grief, swap trolleys with then on the first hill you come to and watch the smiles get wiped right off thier faces.
Lets see how much stick they give you at the top of the hill, when they are panting like an asthmatic greyhound and you are nice and fresh for your next shot.
Trust me, it DOES make a difference.

 Well, I've just bit the bullet and bought a Field & Scott Classic trolley off e-bay. I went for the wide wheelbase Classic as my course is pretty hilly. The great thing was I only paid £68 for in a straight auction it as it was not on the usual "buy it now" pricing of £110! Bargain! Interestingly I have only just joined this course (Gleddoch in North Ayrshire) and there are a lot of guys with electric trolleys here. Can't wait to try it. I'll let you know how I feel after my first round with it.

Thanks for you help. I've bit the bullet and bought one off e-bay from a company called www.excel-golf.biz and i'm over the moon with it it cost me £120 all in came with travel cover, battery, toolkit and battery cover. I have used it for 3 rounds and it has not let me down. My home course is very hilly and it still had alot of power to keep going at the end of the round. I think the most important thing is to charge the battery properly in the first place. I would definatly recommend the trolley and you don't need to spend £370+ on other branded trolleys. I am now a convert of the trolley brigade. Get one now!!!!
