Thanks Alex, that's exactly what I mean. Never judge a book by its cover, just because it "looks cool" doesn't mean it'll work for your swing. And if it doesn't work for your swing, then it's not "the best" is it?

Or are they giving style marks on the first tee nowadays?

It may look cool, but that means nothing as far as you being able to hit the ball down the fairway and keep it in play on a consistent basis.You have to Demo as many drivers as you can to see which one gives you the beter consistency.

The R7 headcover does look nice, but I'm not penalising myself just to have a nice looking golf bag.

Read in january's golf digest that there is a new R7 due out very soon... it's 425 cc. I believe it's already out in the U.S.

How many models do they sell now ? I guess going for 425cc allows them further upgrade options to 460cc ;-)

There are a couple new R7's due out - the R7 425 and the R7 460. There are TP versions due of both of these babies too.

I've read that the new R7's don't have different headcovers to the current model.

Incidentally, the R7 TP headcover with the magnetic fastening.. now that's a nice headcover.

Just wish they would call it a different name like the R8 or something... Some unfortunate will be suckered into buying an R7 thinking he 's getting the new model when in fact it will be the older version...
