Evening all

I'm currently playing with a pretty old putter that has quite a few deepish marks on the face.
I was wondering if it was possible to either get the face 'shaved' so that it is completely flat or maybe a new face fitted on top of the current one?

Are things like this possible? and if so any pointers or recommended places to get this done would be appreciated.

How do you manage to keep a putter long enough to get wear?
Mine end up in ponds and trash cans.

I'm sure a machine shop could skim it for you, have a look in Yellow Pages for one locally.

Cheers

It's my dads old putter, he had it for a while and I always came back to it when my other putters..... er... 'failed'
Been using it regularly for a while now and although I'm a pretty poor putter I can't find anything else feel comfortable with, so I'd always fancy my chances with this one over anything else

I will have a look locally and see what I can find.

a smooth file and scotchbrite depends on the material too
so long as they lightly skim most marks can be removed without effecting the loft etc
