Spent a little time in direct golf, Solihull, as it was p***ing it down with rain.
Santa's grotto for golfers or what? All stacked up to the roof with the Christmas stock.

However, they hadn't got any Mizuno MP001's - and that is what I was after.

I did have a look at some other kit and was quite surprised that I didn't like the look of a lot of it.
Some of the top range drivers look really cheap and tinny, very few of them looking better than the Hippo Giant 380S and 420S which has already established itself as a top gun @ about £120 or less (see comments from Gil in other thread)

Biggest surprise was the Mizuno MX23 irons (MX20's beaten with an ugly stick)
They lacked the neat, compact, slick look of the 20's that were based on my beloved CompEZ's and have now gone for a head shape more akin to the cast MX15's - bulky and chunky with wide soles and long shallow face. Standing over the long irons there is a great wodge of metal sticking out the back. Ok they might be more playable for forged irons but I doubt if you will now be able to tell the difference. I’d save my money and buy the more durable MX 15’s (available with the same Dynalite Gold shaft) or get the still superb MX20’s for a knockdown price.

Another ugly stick is the Nike Slingsh*t – from above looks like a set of rescue clubs in different lofts and stylized to look as if the belt is fastened to the back with punch holes. Just as naff as their over stylized drivers.

Bear in mind this is all subjective but I think for some golfers the look of their equipment is important.

I like smart looking, uncluttered design – what about you?

Hippo giant 380s and 420 s went for £60 on e bay this morning, they retailed at £199 and as Alan said Not only are they right up there but look and sound great too.
Are you having trouble with the driver, smell the coffee.
I can't see anyone who is currently hitting MX 20S upgrading, theres no point IMHO.
Has anyone read the current edition of Todays Golfer where the seven wood of the Hippo range above got five stars against the best that are out there.
Bobs Belgium piece got a good mench to.
Editorial that is,not a concubine.:)

Iv,e contacted the dealer who has bought in a whole range of Integras on E Bay most with proforce shafts fitted and he will be trial pricing them as to wether he imports anymore.
You can't go wrong.
Expect a write up on an Integra with a proforce shaft soon:)
