Hi There,

Just purchased over the internet a lovely new king cobra 430ss.

Used it for the first time tonight and after powering a few balls a mighty distance the club got a distintive rattle which is intermittent.

Guy at the range said it sounded like a bit of glue had come out into the club head and it wouldn't be serious but I should be able to get it replaced.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

Range bloke probably right but I'd talk to the retailer and request a replacement.

Sounds like the swing weight has shifted and the intermitency is inside the head theres sticky tape like flypaper which it adheres to and then unsticks itself.
Only cure is for it to go back for replacement or if purchased on E Bay back to the manafacturer for TLC.

Just had this response to Paul's query from Cobra's marketing guru John Peal:

"Very simply, the consumer's contract is with the retailer. This is one of
the realities if you choose to buy online, it isn't as easy in all cases to
resolve after-sales issues as it is if you buy from a conventional bricks and
mortar shop.

"In practice, we will service any products returned under warranty, by
repair or replacement if repair is not possible."

In a nutshell, under consumer protection, if a product is sub-standard and not fit for the purpose for which it was purchased, it is the responsibility of the retailer in the first instance to replace or offer money back. Check the on-line terms and conditions. Hope this helps.

Wot's the sticky tape doing there, do the sub contract assembly to "Blue Peter"?

The company on ebay have offered a full replacement or if I wait till Jan they can get it repaired at Cobra FOC.

All good!

Sounds like a bit of Epoxy (glue) has come loose, nothing to worry about - send it back to your retailer - Cobra, in my limited experience, has decent customer service.
