Back-Weighting Putters
Anyone tried it?

Anyone tried back-weighting their putter – i.e. adding weight to the grip/butt end to counter-balance the club?
I just picked up one of those Wilson Kirk-Currie putters that has the facility to do change weights. So I set up the head with max weight (which I prefer). Hit a few balls and found it to be okay, nowt special. Then I put some weight into the grip end and WOW! – it felt really nice just waggling it, and the result is amazing. Played a round with it yesterday and was draining putts like a demon, never hit so many one-putts ever. Although it’s heavy overall, the balance makes it feel light and responsive to the slightest touch.
I’ve heard about DIY methods, including large rivet-type pins aprox’ 50-100g from DIY stores (open out the hole in the grip and insert the pin). Can also buy butt-end inserts that are designed to take weights or lead powder).
Anyone tried it? What were the results?

Yep,done it for years because I like a 32" putter. I've used clevis pins,or just big 5" screws with lead tape wrapped around it,weighs about 50 grammes I think.Just balances the putter so it doesn't feel ridiculously light which is what happesn with the swingweight after being cut down.

However, eventually I went with a much more expensive option,a custom putter shaft made by Nippon,it weighs 150 grammes and works perfectly,I cannot imagine not using it now.
