Hey All,
I am looking to by an electric trolley asmy knees are buggered now ! but can't choose between the powakady freeway titanium digital or the new Motocaddy s3 !! there are advantages for both
Has anyone got any thoughts please as I have to make my mind up today/ tomorrow as both are offering free bags !!
Thanks

Apparrently the Motocaddy bag is poor...i've seen some average reports on it and when I bought my S1 I looked at the Motocaddy bag and didnt think it was up to much in terms of storage space.... but then again I never felt that the P'Kaddy bags that were available at the time (April '06) were that good either!!!!!!
I think both trolleys are probably excellent....PK have a great reputation and MC seem to have improved their QC from when they first started out. I own an S1 and have had well over a years worth of regular totally trouble free "motoring".
Maybe you could save yourself a lot of money and get an S1? Have a look at the S1 and see if the S3 really offers you anything truly useful over and above the S1.

Yes I will have a look a the S1 too I think as you may well be right as I can't find many reviews on the S3 as yet.
Thanks Fugitive

 @Duff
I have the S3 and it is robust, silent and the battery life is exceptional, so far.
Cons - Paint on tubing started peeling after 2 uses of the detachable scorecard holder - speed control is not tactile enough whilst on the move - it is illegal to use in Competitions due to the temperature guage - it does not have an auto-stop feature.

S1 Trolley, go to review section, all you need to know will be there.
Got my PK Delux bag today, Its perfect:o)

Amaboknaai, thanks for your post, it sounds like your not very happy with the trolley and the cons you have maysway me towards a PK
Thanks

@Duff - I am not unhappy with S3, I have just made my observations public. If I were to buy another electric trolley, however, based on the Motocaddy MD's response to me re the peeling paint (go to Halfords and buy a tin of touch-up paint)and the illegality in competitions (place a sticker over the temperature guauge), I would certainly buy a Powakaddy, too!

Amaboknaai
Yeah thats a shocking response !! can you play in comps with a sticker over the read outs ???
|
 |
Yes, as long as it is not visible.

I agree with your sentiments entirely. It is powerful, silent etc etc.
I have sent photos of where the paint has peeled off the tube frame to the MD as he requested. I am NOT happy about being told to go to Halfords and buy some touch-up paint to repair a substandard powder-coating myself. I am also waiting for MD to send me a replacement PC board which will have the facility to turn off the temperature at will in order to make it Competition legal.

I don't know why they didn't just make that an option to turn the temperature off as standard. I am realitively newcomer to the golfing world, so the distance reading sound very appealing to me so I can gauge how far I hit my shots etc to give me a better feel to my game.
I didn't think it would be this bloody hard to choose a trolley either ha ha

 |
 Duff,
they never made it an option becasue they never had a clue that it was potentially contrary to the rules of golf until they were asked the question by a board member here!!
|
 |
Fugitive,
think I am going to go for the S3 could you please let me know how you get on with the pc board when you get it as it would be something I would be interested in too.
thanks

It is me who has the S3 and was promised the replacement PC board. Waiting for a response from MD, in relation to his offer to me...
It is a great trolley, but for the points mentioned.

I purchased a Powercaddy at the start of June and am pleased with it although it has developed a strange fault, it does not like to get going in the morning (bit like its owner hehe) When I first start it seems that the power is slow to get through, in fact this morning i gave up on it and was pushing it around, got to the third hole and was teeing off when the other guys said "Your trolley has just taken off" and I had to run after it, so I have taken it back this afternoon to get it checked out.

Shame your mates didn't get that on camera as would be worth £250 he he .
Well I have just ordered the S3, so will let the forum know how I get on. So if I am not playing like Tiger Woods within the fortnight I will demand my money back !!

Yes i would have loved a shot of that hehe. There is no doubt in my mind though that moving to an electric caddy has improved my game and I would not go back to pulling a cart around the course, it seems to keep you much fresher and focused on the next shot. Hope it gets sorted quick as I will miss it.

Just had a response this morning from the MD of Motocaddy. They have offered to replace my paint-peeling S3.
Satisfied, now all I want is the replacement PC board to make it legal in Competitions...

Well had my first round last night with the S3 and it was great ! , except for the rain !!! so going to get an umbrella holder for it but just read that the scorecard holder & umbrella holder won't fit on at the same time, how stupid is that ??
