Hi All

Tried out a R7 Superquad this week and got on really well with it, I am really tempted to go for it.

Only concern is the all over black finish, looks great shiny and new, have any of you got one of these, how the does the finish wear on the sole and face of the club.

While I am asking although I am not buying it because of MWT does anyone use MWT to change there shots?

it s alot of money so any experience would be helpful.

I have the R7 Superquad TP it is a fantastic club, hit it 20-30 yds further than my G5 but may also have something to do with being fitted at Precision Golf, the finish is nice although it marks a little with white tees, but a bit of hot soapy water cleans it up.
I have used the MWT to adjust the flight of the ball when playing links, and it seemed to assist and stop the ball flying high.
Love mine and wouldn't part with it

Hi Nick, the one point you should take from Nimbleblades reply is that he got fitted !

I went on a launch monitor recently and amongst other clubs I tried my luck with the Superquad because I agree it looks the nuts. Felt good, looked good. But the results according to the monitor were not so encouraging. Ended up with a TM Burner which I was a lot more consistent with in terms of launch angle, spin, etc... The club I was fitted with cost me about £50 quid extra coz of the shaft, etc - but it's got to be worth it...

Thanks for the advice, i have been on the launch monitor and tried several lofts and shaft combinations at TFG in Warrington, as well as trying most of the well known driver types, TFG were really helpful, (3 sessions so were very patient as well), this confirmed what I thought that the MX500 with NV65 was much tto stiff for me and it turns out the regular stock flex in the superquad seems to be just right by the results on the range they have as well as the monitor.

Tried the Burner but just couldnt hit is well, probably my crap swing but the quad went 20-30 yards further than the mx annd straight down the middle.

Lets hope it works on the course too.

Itsa good point to get proper advice, thats how i ended with the mx through wrog advice and going more on name and looks.

So, the one thing that is useful about this club is MWT - yet you're not buying it because of that? You like it because its black.

Why not just pop down to Halfords buy a can of hammerite black, spray your existing driver, and then desired effect gained for a mere fraction of the price?

I would imagine that every user of a quad of any version has tinkered at some stage of ownership. Does it make any difference? Depends how consistent your swing is really

Scuse me Fengibbon, can you read? did you actually read my last post....or did soemone type your post for you!

No I am buying it because I hit it a lot better than any of ther other clubs I tried (burner, callaway FT-i, FT-5, Yonex, Ping, Hibore XL, cobra LD yadda yadda yadda.

I admit when I started trying clubs TM was not on my list, but proof is in the hitting.

When my swing improves considerably then I might tinker with the weights but at the moment I will set it to draw with an objective to hit drives onto the fairway.
No i didn't bother reading your last post and I am perfectly capable of typing myself without using some kind of pidgin English such as "scuse" instead of "Excuse."

I was referring to the fact in your original pst you mentioned you liked it black and you wondered if the weights made any difference.

Don't start faffing around with that MWT then, otherwise you'll not be hitting it straight anymore. Alternatively you could learn and groove a proper swing, instead of buying technology to compensate for a crap one. :-)

ah yes , the R7 Superquad costing many of your British Quids , is getting mine from AGS - Afghan Golf Superstore and not that American place

I'am hitting much of the short grass on the runways of your golfing fields with this club and is down to black shiny finish much helping

MWT , moveable weight technology , is idea nice good but like WMD , weapon of mass destruction , is bit of miss & hit in wrong hand

Just remembered your giving up the weed so perhaps thats why the sarcasm.

Anyway went and bought the Superquad, only hit a few balls on the practice area in the rain yesterday but hit some decent drives, 70% straight and 200 yds+ it feels really well balanced.

Really pleased with the club, top quality and very clever mechanical engineering, look forward to developing my driving with it. At least having been fitted for it I can be confident the club is right, the rest is down to my swing.

I had a go with my mates one and i just couldnt slice it, which for me is as rare as rocking horse doo doos. Ive promised myself one and for the first time with a driver im going to get myself fitted properly.

Went on the driving range with it today for the first time, after the first dozen balls I got into the slot and started hitting high and straight shots time after time (Ferret rare for me too !!) carrying 200 yds which with range balls is a big improvement, goes a bit high at the moment but will work on that when I get more consitency.

Completely reccommend the club, but as its a fair few quid definatly get fitted otherwise you will be trading it in after a short while.
