Hi,

I have been regripping my clubs, and have come to my Taylor Made Bubble 2 shaft and find that the standard (Winn) grips I have been using won't fit over the end of the bubble2shaft .

The diamiter of the iron shafts are about 1.5cm but the bubble shaft is 2cm.

Can anyone tell me what size (mid/oversized) grips will likley fit.

 Thanks

 Adrian

not seen any mid or over - only one we have used is the lamkin 865

difficult to undertape and fatten as the grip is so thin

if you use a standard 600 bore you could bust the butt of the shaft

Hi,

Thanks for your response though I am not sure what it means.

Basically, the standard size grips I have used to regip my irons will not fit over the end of my 3 wood which has a 'Bubble 2 Shaft'. The shaft is 1/2cm wider at the end than the other shafts so the grip won't slip over.

should I get a larger size grip (i.e. mid-size or oversize)

no  you need an oversize inner bore grip as above with the 865  - the outer bore will be slightly over standard size as the grips are much thinner

you will also need a fitting tool to get the grip over the butt

Thanks Exmax,

Can you tell me where I can get these, and what is 865 (shaft model?)

Adrian

The Bubble Shaft (and the the shafts fitted to Taylor made R580 sreies) are the onlu clubs that I have left to my pro to regrip despite regripping dozens of clubs myself.

I have some perma wrap 865s  Branded Mitsushisba and the grips were sold to me as suiting 'big butt' shafts to go with some graphite shafts I bought. I would agree that that they certainly look as if they are going to need a fitting tool. (Whatever happened to my old Hellerine pliers)

drop me a mail - but as Jim says you will need the fitting tool too

 Thanks for all the help.

I bought a Lamkin 865 Large Core Grip (for TM bubble shafts) and a gripping application tool from gamolagolf.

Here goes nothing.

Fiited it with a bit of effort - would want to do too many.
