I have just started carrying again after nearly two years with a trolley and have loved it. I've thinned out my gear and now travel loads lighter and smarter !! I bought myself a cheap dunlop carry bag to see how I would take to it again but now one of my friends has offerred me his Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 bag which is in immaculate condition (he looks after his stuff !) and wanted to hear anyone's comments - either good or bad - about Sun Mountain or if I'm lucky, this bag specifically. Will this bag be a stayer or will it break ? Good quality or not ? Easy to use or a bit tricky ? Enough room for waterproofs or all a bit tight ? Should I buy it (for £50) or should I steer clear ? etc etc If you think I am asking loads of questions for only spending £50 the reason is that two months ago I bought a long-time want of a Kaala trolley on ebay. I paid approx £65 but the minute I got it, I didn't want want it and it has remained in the garage ever since. Hence I am asking these basic questions !! As ever, looking forward to your feedback.

I have one. Does what is says on the label. Quality is very good, stand works fine, enough room for a set of waterproofs in the large compartment but not much else (ie. if you stick a jumper, waterproofs, hat, anything else bulky-ish in at the same time it can get a bit tight), rest of the compartments are all fine with plenty of room for the smaller stuff.

Sun Mountain bags are excellent, my missus uses the ladies version of the one you are thinking of getting and its been great. If I ever go for another stand bag then thats the one I would go for.

I've got the one up from that (think it's the Flight or something) with the 14-way divider and it's brilliant! I've a trolley bag by them too, which is cavernous!
Excellent bags!

My Dad and I both have them and think that they are excellent. The stands work well and they have decent rubber feet. The pockets are sufficient to house waterproofs and the attachments for towel and brolly are better than most. If you are being offered one for £50.00 and it is in good nick, then I would say go for it. I wonder why you pal is getting rid of it!

He is getting rid of it as he has upgraded to the Sun Mountain H2O - ie the same but waterproof !! I have just called him and told him I'll have it - thanks to all of you for your recommendations !!

Sun mountain are quite simply the best bags out there, which is why they come with a 2 year guarantee as opposed to the usual one year. All the stitching is doubled so you don't have them coming apart and liners coming out as is the case with other bags. Get it.

I've got a sunlight H2O and played with it once. Lovely so far! Light, feels small, carries everything comfortably!

Mmmm... really tempted by the H2O for my UK jaunts. Sun Mountain bags are the business. I've had a couple and both have been great; their Mini is my current 'skinny' bag. They also make the Titleist bags.

I bought one of the first Sun Mountain bags (Front Nine) when they came out about 15 years ago. I only use it during the winter when their is a trolley ban. It is still in use every winter and the only thing that has need repairing is that the graphite friendly rims have had to be replaced. Note this not the sam bag as carries the Front Nine logo now but was the original ultra light bag weighing in at under 3lbs. My only concern about ultra lightweight bags is that if they are carried (single strap) you have to careful about bending down to pick up things with the bag still on your shoulder, as the weight of the heads are not counter balanced and the clubs tend to slide out.
