And so off we went this morning, my son and I, to one of our local Pro shops, to try out the G5 and G10 drivers.

I took along my Adams RPM just to show him what I've been playing with so we could compare all three together. After looking at my club and watching me hit both Pings, he left me speechless.

He said that whilst he'd be happy to take £110 off me and let me walk away with a G10, he didn't think there was anything wrong with my present one, and not a lot to be gained.

I bought the Adams for £65 about a year ago as a stop gap, as I couldn't afford a top name driver, but always had the intention of upgrading in the future, but now I'm going to stick with it. The other upshot is that now I can get a new pair of AQLs and a Benross cart bag with the money I would have spent on the driver! Result!!

Lets hear it for the Pro, offering good advice whilst doing himself out of £100 worth of business. Hear hear!

in the cynical spirit of this board you could say he got off lightly as he would have been left looking at a loss until he shifted your old adams which might have taken until the end off time.

sure he was just offering good advice though .Playing the long game.

Yes, it is cynical, as I wasn't trading my Adams in, it was going to the local school society!!
