i was watching golf on t.v. last night when they said tiger woods was dropped from the points table remember this can affect us all in some way or another please give your views

Glenn, I don't understand what you mean. Can you please explain what the question is that you're asking? As far as I can see, Tiger's presence on the 'points table' has no bearing on me whatsoever! BB

if your club has a leag and u play in that leag your up near the top of that leag you fall sick now they can take you out of that leag and give you no points this was mainly brought in becouse if your leading you may not have to play the last to rounds and still win over all or turn up and not play or play upto one or two holes and pull out so i belive they should have waverd this and still in cluded his points this was not him saying im not turning up becouse i dont need to remember rules always start at the top and work there way down to us

Glenn - are you on the PGA tour?
no but this rule could or should effect all league competitions so before it does lets have our say

Glenn, did you drink a tankard of laudanum beforeyou posted ?

I know I'm never going to win Mastermind but I don't think I'm particularly thick either. So why is it that this thread makes no sense to me whatsoever? Am I the only one? Nothing personal Glenn, but can you please explain (in simple terms) how Tiger's injury has any effect on me as a 9 handicap amateur golfer?
tigers injury has no effect if you play in a league then them whipping out all his points could have the points should have stayed on the table until they were over taken sorry in my first question i should have put all league players i fell strongly that golfmagic should get up a petition to get these points rein stated

League? Are you talking about Ryder cup points / positions? Do you mean it will effect everyone on the PGA tour? I can't see how Tiger's injury will effect any amateur. Can you post a link to the story?
My club has an Order of Merit which is a league that determines the Golfer of the Year. I'm in it but I don't think Tiger is.

Glen, From this post & the one regarding tees (which evolved into one on your son becoming a pro), it is clear that you either have no idea on the way that the sport of competive golf is managed or as I suggested on the other thread you are winding us up. If it is the former fair enough, but try posting to get an insight into the sport rather than giving opinions on matters of which you are totally ignorant. If it is the latter, may I suggest that you go and play elsewhere.

I think he may be referring to the Fantasy Golf leagues. At least, I hope that's right.
"Fantasy Golf" Yup, Fantasy Golf in Glenn's wee fantasy world where his 14 yr. old, 200 yds. with-a-5-iron son is going to win the Grand Slam and Glenn can live happily, if vicariously, ever after on his son's largesse. Follow the Yellow Brick Road, follow the Yellow Brick Road...........

no to me it was the second i no my son and i don't think hes got the patience or determination and dedication to become anything

He's talking about the FEdex cup! That's what they were referring to on the TV. And the reason they took Tigers points off is because they are "reset" when the Fedex cup playoffs start, and since he's already declared he won't be playing in the playoffs, then he can't win it again like he did last year.
so did the presenter get it wrong as well because he said his points should have stayed there until the end or over taken thanks for that Paul i thought it was done to stop the pro getting payed to attend and then not bothering because if you advertise that tiger was going to be there it wood draw the crowds in then he didn't bother he would have gained all that money so the crowed would have been rely pissed off

hey when i was at school we didn't get all the help and the support they get today we were just sat at the back of the class out of the way Graham Noyce was the best one for that he got paid a £1000 to turn up done two laps then pulled in the pits the point you all missed out on is if youve got a par 4 hole 400yrds hes hitting 200yrds hes half way there

Yep, but if that 1st shot went in the rough, a duffed 2nd shot out of the rough, 3rd into a green side bunker, 4th out the bunker through the green, chip on the green for 5 and 3 putt for an 8. In most cases you cant equate distance to the score someone will get on a hole. In golf Accuracy is paramount yes you have to hit the ball a reasonable distance to be a low handicapper but you have to hit the greens and make the putts.
