I bought 12 of these for £2.80 in Tesco. Has anyone here who knows the difference (not me coz i'm new to golf) tried the titleist xl 2000 ball? I think they are rather good for the price but I'm probably no judge. Very cheap anyway!

...or do I mean topflyte?

I've just seen them advertised for £8.99 elsewhere but this was a mixture of Topflyte XL2000 and XL3000. (give us an edit function..... please!).

The trouble with the Tesco lake balls is they are "mixed" allthough they may all say Topflite XL2000 there are (from memory)5 different balls in the XL 2000 series. At each extreme you have an out and out distance ball to a high spin ball. The difference between those balls is huge in terms of what they do.

Before you play any ball make a note of what it says on the side of the ball and then you will learn what type of ball you like.

dmg The topflite XL 2000 High Spin is a good ball for any player and is my preferred ball for winter use as it does not have quite the spin rates of a trully high spinning golf ball which is fine for softer greens.
