I'm compiling a book at the moment called 'The Golfer's Guide to the 21st Century'. Has anyone any thoughts about what should be included in it? For instance text messaging for golfers? WHat does the modern golfer have in his bag?

I heard that in America they were looking at GPS (Satellite navigation) to track balls around a course and give feedback to golfers.
Don't know if it's true or not but who knows?

1. 2010: Computerised scorecards like a playing card with a microchip inside enabling members in the bar to follow the progress of the medal round as it happens with each score by each player logged in, to a clubhouse scoreboard.

2. 2011. Because of further outbreaks of animal diseases in the countryside, hundreds of courses closed and major pro-am leagues launched at driving ranges, with stadium seating.

3. Reduction of the ozone layer makes shorts compulsory by 2027.

4. Number of clubs in the bag reduced to ten by 2017 - to encourage more variety in shot-making. Ian Woosnam wins British Super Seniors Open under the new rules.

5.Only two balls in use in golf by 2021. The Calprofli for pros and the Toprecept 100 for amateurs. Seniors use the Toprecept 65 and Ladies the Toprecept 80.

6. Schools add golf to the curriculum in 2012, so you can get a GCSE in golf coaching children of nursery age at ranges.

From above:
5a). After the discovery of a super durable polyplastic compound, and with the introduction of further improved chip technology and GPS, the World Golf Federation give a single golf ball to every new born baby around the world, in an attempt to encourage the remaining 15% of the population to take up the game. The ball cannot be damaged, or lost. (They cost $E20 (Doros - the golbal currency) to produce).

7. In 2030, the entire field of the US Open is comprised of Black American golfers for the first time. This occurrance comes 25 years after the press reveals the 2005 genetic cloning 'TIGERGATE' scandal.
