I've been bidding on 3 & 5 woods, steel shaft in good nick on ebay. Got to the point where I'm not sure if I'm just being stubborn now! How much should I pay for the pair (inc. covers & £12.00 postage)? 2 days to go. I reckon I'd still be getting a reasonable deal if I went a bit higher - based on the callawaypreowned site price list, but, well...any ideas please? Ta. (nips off to stick a few more quid on the little beauties) :)

they will probably go higher than they are worth callaway stuff always sells well on ebay.
just look at the completed items on ebay and take a look at golfbidder.com to see what they offer them at, which is the price you would expect to pay on pros secondhand rack.
sets of 2 sometimes go a bit higher than the norm.

 thanks

GI - that's per club I take it? I really only wanted to get me a 5 wood, but saw this pair & figured I'd go for them. I got into a bit of a bidding war with someone (stupid I know) and have now decided to wait until about a minute before auction ends, see where the price is at & maybe stick in another tenner or so... Was sort of hoping for one for my birthday, had dropped HUGE hints (for that read: "do you know what I'd REALLY, REALLY like for my birthday this year, my love?" heh heh)etc. But a bit tricky to get hold of if you don't know where to look. Very pleased & happy with my new Callaway (Izzo) stand bag, I must say (the drinks cooler is a nice touch), but still left with that "need wood" feeling...ramble...drone... If I can get em for about £80 the pair plus postage, that'll do me - otherwise I'm really not that *rs*d. I'm pretty happy with my TM 3W & 21* rescue - will just keep a look out for a Steelhead 5W...Thanks for the price info.

No £55 for both I wouldn't pay much more.
I found the item eventually it's this one isn't it as the postage matches up:

£82 at the moment I personally wouldn't pay that.
If you are looking at golfbidders prices generally half that as when they auction items they normally only sell for half of their retail prices certainly no more so take 50 or even 60 % off. But at the end of the day I presume it depends on how much you want a specific club or clubs.
Happy bidding.

Nice one GI - it is indeed that item - I just went to paste the link across for you & noticed there are others getting involved in the game. I pulled out at sixty quid or so - I just fancy giving that particular club a go on the basis of recommendation on this forum to be honest. I've never been a brand junkie (it feels mighty odd to me to be carrying a bag emblazoned with a brand I'm not being paid to advertise, I have to say!!!), but people speak quite highly of these particular woods - and I saw a 13 year old chap rip the h*ll out of his second to the green the other day (which might have influence me somewhat - nothing to do with him having way better technique than me, you understand...oh no...no,no,no. MUST be the club :) I'll have a look at golfbidders - see what's goin on there. Goit a bit of a bee in my bonnet at this point I have to say. even started ranting about it in the pub last evening - to my best mate who not only doesn't play or have any interest in golf, but is a drum roadie (for The Darkness!). Golf (equipment) bore-itis imminent unless I can get one of these things bought, in the bag & swung a few times SOON! Rant over. Thanks again.

They sure are good clubs and I would happily pay at least £45 each (as would a lot of other people hence the price)!
I've got a Steelhead III 3 wood (steel shaft excellent nick)- and I would expect about £50 for it on e-bay. So say about £100 for the 3 and the 5 including postage. Not much more than that.
I can't tell you how much I like these clubs - I'd be lost without my Steelhead III 3 wood which is very long and very straight. I use it off the tee rather than the ERC I have - it's the one club I won't change until it breaks. I'd pay near £100 for a mint one.
£50 each is a decent price. wouldnt go any higher than £110 inc postage.
i buy and sell a lot of stuff on ebay and even the old warbird fairways go for £50 each

eBay.... don't bid on anything until the last minute- you are just pushing the price up.
Keep watching it and then put in a good bid with 1 in to go- if you win, hooray, if not wait for the next time.
I see too many fools that pay more for clubs than the cost brand new from a shop!
I have a Steelhead III 4+ which I love, would maybe swap it for a 3 or a Fusion 3 if I could find one at a good price.
Chip Unsure I keep lossing to last minute bidders on eBay, I take it I am going wrong buy researching what I think it is worth subtracting postage and putting that as my max bid?
I agree with Chip. Don't bid until the last 30 seconds. This means that other people will be unable to bid after your bid, because there isn't enough time!
Without broadband you can forget it. Takes too long for bid to get registered. With it, you can send a bid with about 5 secs to go.
There's a free software package called OUTBIDDER that you can programme and it will automatically bid for you at the last second. A very handy piece of software to have if you are away from the internet.
