I'm hoping some one out there can advise a good pair of shoes for me. Currently I'm using a pair of Footjoy X dimension and have only ever used Footjoys, the problem is that as comfortable as they are, I'm having pain problems especially in my right foot. My best guess is that as the shoes get older, the support is decreasing, combine this with my new increasing waist line due to giving up smoking but taking up alcoholism, there you have it. Recommendations of shoes with very good support in the sole of the foot would be appreciated.

I have difficulty finding shoes due to a wider than average fit (I wonder why?).
I find the Adidas Clima-Cool to be superb. They are only summer shoes, ie not waterproof, but by far the most comfy shoe I have ever had.
Shame I left them in a club locker room the day before going away for a month.
A new pair is on order though and will be waiting for me on my return. You shouldn't have to pay more than £59 on the net if you shop around.

I don't want to seen to push my own wears but for another classic leather summer shoe try Nebuloni (I do advertise on this site so I am not spamming), they are handmade in Italy, choose the style, colours, sole, size and width. Worn by Jiménez.

I've got some Stylos which I have found to be very good.

Al, Is there anywhere to try these before buying? Just checked the site, and they are not cheap, would be worth every penny if comfortable, but I wouldn't want to commit beofre finding out whether I could wear them or not.
I couldn't find any mention of width sizes either. Maybe I missed that

Eugene, I am interested in your comments about Adidas as I have wide feet and always find Adidas to be too narrow.
SBL, I use Etonic and find them to be very comfortable straight out of the box. Have had lot of pairs of these and not one blister from them.

 Footjoys make a wider fit.

Adidas are definitely for the narrower foot, I've always worn them (trainers, football boots) and recently got a pair of the SSE 75, beautiful fit for me. Nike always seem to be wider, didn't try any of their golf shoes but I assume they'd be the same.

Footjoys are great, especially the DryJoys PRO. You can find them in wide size.

Eugene, there are a couple of stockists in the UK (we are searching for more so if anyone knows a club that would be interested???) so let me know where you are based (send an Email to me). For the width, generally in Europe width options on all shoes are rare to find, however Nebuloni are supplying 80% of the shoes into the US market where they demand a width size. They come in narrow, standard, wide and extra wide. (I should really change the site to enable this option to be taken). Generally sizes are similar to footjoy but if it turns out that once the shoes arrive they are slightly small or large we will replace for the correct size. But the best option will be for you to see and try before buying. As these shoes are customised it is possible to get a special prescription insole made for each shoe (we did this for a couple of Ladies who visited us at the London Golf Show). Send an Email and we can talk further.

I my experience Footjoy are the most comfortable.(And longest lasting). You dont say how old/how many rounds you have had? X- Dimension are lower in the "Range"- I suggest you try Dryjoys or better. Why not send the old shoes back to Footjoy and see what they say?

I agree about Adidas being for the narrower foot, but the Clima-Cool do appear to be an exception, maybe because they are trainer style. Sooooo comfy
As for FootJoy, I have an old pair which used to be comfortable, but they were bought in the States, where you can get wide and extra wide fittings. They were extremely comfortable, but having played probably 200 rounds of golf over 5 years, they needed replacing. I took them to the Footjoy Laser Fitting Centre last year and asked for another pair, but was told, sorry mate, we only sell those in the States.
I have to say I was very disappointed with the Custom Fitting Centre. You have your feet scanned by a laser, then the results popped up and I was told I was 8 1/2.
I haven't worn a 8 1/2 for 20 years! So then I was made to try on half a dozen pairs of 8 1/2 before they gave in and let me try 9 & 9 1/2. Nothing fit but I have got really awkward feet.

 Al, you have email.

Roger, the shoes are about 2 years now, certainly no older and I would guess done about 120 to 150 rounds ish. I am considering the Dryjoys and the Pro version. I think that part of the problem may be that I play Brancepeth GC which is essentially a flat course to play but there are a number of valleys/ravines that you have to go through. I think that it is this that is overly softening the sole of the shoe, the trekking back up the other side.

I have been using Phoenix and clean and polish them after every round..
These have been very comfortable since day one .
Played weekly during summer and winter since September 2004 and they are now starting to show wear and tear..
AGD have a sticker saying bring in your old shoes and get £25.00 off your new shoes but not sure what that is all about..
Can we really pick up a pair of £50.00 shoes for half price plus the old ones..?

Ecco for ultimate comfort and wear but at a price. Stylo for comfort and value for money.

 Thanks Tim for your Email.
Eugene I will be in touch shortly.

Has anyone tried the Nike SP 3/5/7's, they look quite nice and appear to have a pretty good design on the sole for additional grip.
|
 |
SBL, I've got a pair of the Nike SP3s from AGD. very comfy, perhaps not as breathable as I had hoped but vertainly no blister issues

I just bought a pair of adidas tour metals. They are far more comfortable than my previous pair of nike air TW's. The chrome three stripes really looks funky but is fairly subtle at the same time. As mentioned previously, however, adidas do run narrow so I bought the wide versions.
