Any comments on the Srixon i-201s Irons?

Lovely - particularly with the Rifle shafts.
Feel as good as any forged club I have used and is a powerful but forgiving neat head.

Thanks Big Al...not happy with my MX17s, so going back to try MX 23s and Taylormades OS IIs and these 201s. I play off 16...would they suit? Good prices available as I think they are now discontinued.

Depends if you prefer a smaller head size - the Srixons look a little less forgiving than the others you've mentioned at address.

Is it the shafts on the MX17's that do not suit?

... I still prefer my Mizuno Comp EZ's with Gold Plus Sensicores for feel - it's just that you can get away with a lot more with the larger cavity.

No, not the shafts...although I would swear that the 1/2" off the length has changed the dynamics to a point where I am losing distance. I suppose I just can't get use to the rather clunky head thickness, I was use to a neater traditional head like the 23s. So I will give the mentioned clubs a try.

1/2 off will lose you a few yards but should give you a bit more control.
