Played on sunday straight after a night shift, coffee and lucozade managed to power me through the 18 holes. I thought I did ok but on totting up at the end I managed a 97...(a couple of 8s didn't help) this was my first time past the 100 mark, (i know its not much of an achievement) final proof that I AM getting better slowly.

Well done - have you thought about which club you hit the best? And just using that the majority of the time.

My mate and i used to play holes with just PWs - very funny all kind of shot shaping de lofting etc... but the point was we rarely strayed from the fairway (3 x PW ~300-330yds 2 putts = bogey x 18 holes = +18 not bad )

Definately worth thinking about if you want to go a little lower.

My fave at the moment is my 17 deg Cleveland 4 wood, use it off the tee and the deck, fairway and light rough, feels great when everything goes right and doesnt punish me too harshly when it doesn't. Putting is doing ok too, I'm using a 1950s blade as I just can't seem to find anything else I like. Main losses are due to duffed shots on the fairway (trying to hit the ball too hard) and poor chipping.

Well done, its a milestone, and good for you to report your gross score rather than a net score or Stab pts. Aim for sub 90 next.

Nice one, it definitely is a good achievement. I aimed for mid 90's next but found i fluctuated between low 90's to 100.

I just made sure i never sneaked into the 100's again.

I'm going to go for a H/C soon as I've been told that I am elligible even as an "academy member" of our club. The course is a par 72, so if I score 3 97s (for arguments sake) will I have a H/C of 25?

maintaining sub 100 i think. I also occasionally play with vintage kit (Persimmon woods and Macgregor blades) so a sub 100 round with this bag would be great.

hi simon, i have played Riddlesden. what a laugh. you will enjoy the views if nothing else. i had a disasterous round but a one over par on each of the signature holes 6 and 15.
