One of my targets this year was to get a legitimate handicap, so tomorrow I play in my first ever competition (medal), then 2 more as soon as I can to get my cards in.

Not to worried about my game, I will score whatever I score, but was hoping you fellas might have some advice about competition etiquette, do I help look for balls in the rough, do I shout fore if I think its required on their shot etc.

Thanks guys (and gals).

Yep, help look for balls and shout fore, just as you would when out with mates. Have a good one.

Good luck. I have always been a little too nervous to enter a competition. One day maybe.

Go out there and enjoy yourself. Don't worry too much about every bit of etiquette, you'll pick it up as you go along.

And I didn't look a mug.

First time off white tees, 3 penalty strokes (one of those for a lost ball on the fairway ??, seriously we all saw it land but then had to go back to tee again as we couldn't find it !!!)

Finished at 20 over so very happy.

Thanks for encouragement folks.
