Im looking at getting my clubs regripped  . I was going to get  GP multi compound decade grips but then saw the Sharpro (which look the same as golf prides ). Is there much difference between the 2 grips or is it worth paying more for the golf prides . Hopefully some one would of tried both of these grips and have a view on them both . thanks.

I have used them on all my clubs and like them ( especially the price for 13)

22/10/2007 at 22:20
I've used both and currently use the Sharpro. No real difference that I can detect and the Sharpro are a fraction of the price, also the colours are better with the Sharpro, the kimited edition grey/black ones are real nice. I heard that Sharpro invented the multicompounds and license GP to be able to make and sell them, dunno if thats true. I also use Sharpro velvets, and they are equally good as GP and yet again a fraction of the price.

I got my 7 iron in GP multicompound and my 4 iron in Sharpro so I could compare them.

Absolutely no difference I can tell. Except for the price that is ! IMO go for the Sharpro.

I have recently ordered 13 Sharpro grips from the net to regrip all my clubs, but thanks to the bloody Royal Mail going on strike the parcel has been lost. When I eventually get the parcel delivered I intend on writing a review.

Interesting thread - I was thinking of regripping all my clubs this winter with a dual compound, mainly for show but noticed these Sharpro on Ebay

... I wondered if they were any good - thanks I will try them.

Used every grip going in the last 2 years and now stick with Sharpro due to price.£1.75 each inc p+p off an Ebay shop, just unbeatable.

Which sharpro multicompound grip is better - the cord grip or normal ? what difference does the cord make .

Wormburner - which ebay user do you use to get them so cheap ?

23/10/2007 at 14:09

Dunno,to lng ago to still show in my won box

I got the Sharpros with the little bit of cord at the top for the left hand, very very durable

These are £1.77 each inc p+p so its probably this seller

I cannot be certain of this but I think Gamola has exclusive rights to Sharpro in the UK.

Gamola

If you contact him he is usually very reasonable at cutting you a good deal.

Yep, Gamola has the Sharpro rights to the UK and is an excellent seller. With the good service, cheap prices and good quality grips you almost can't go wrong.
23/10/2007 at 19:27
I've bought lots from him,but he isn't the cheapest on Sharpro
23/10/2007 at 19:33

I am waiting on an order from Ganola Golf for the Sharpro grips.

The order was made 18 days ago. Needless to say I am somewhat pi**ed off with the slow delivery. Obviously Royal Mail are doing there strike thing but a lack of prompt email responce from Gamola golf just makes it more frustrating.

I will keep you informed on how this unfolds.

23/10/2007 at 19:37
He isn't the quickest on emails but his delivery is always spot on.Its just taken me 2 weeks to get an Ipod posted ages ago, some sorting offices only went back to work on Friday

The link you gave Wormburner also has the Sharpro  PTO multicompound blue cord - but it's from the USA and with postage it would have cost £34

Gamola did a deal below the asking price.  Sorted

....... but a bit worried about Pengwyns post - I do not want to wait ages for the buggers.

23/10/2007 at 19:55
I've bought a dozen items from Gamola and not one has been late

Fine - thanks

I've ordered 3 times from Gamola - all were ordered over a weekend and all came the following Wednesday or Thursday.  The slow delivery is nothing to do with Gamola and I really can't see what he can do about Royal Snail.

I had a delivery of balls yesterday (24th), which I ordered on the 3rd Oct and were sent on the 4th Oct!!!!!!

Pengwyn - any sign of yer grips yet?

Mine haven't arrived

01/11/2007 at 02:37

Taz,

still not delivered. To be fair to Gamola Golf the postal strike is probably the culprit.

That said it did take a while for Gamola to accept they where lost. He has now agreed to post replacements, agreed yesterday and I await delivery.

I have the Sharpro on my 7 iron and Golf Pride on my 4 iron. I cannot tell the difference and I look forward to finally matching the set up with all Sharpro mid size grips.

01/11/2007 at 08:17
Imo they feel slightly harder than the GP or Lamkin, nearer to the GP in anything, but they ear so slowly.I like the firmer feel anyway
02/11/2007 at 13:43
multi compound are way, way better than the sharpro. i know as ive tried both. messed around with a lot of grip options this season until finally got perfect combo (performance and colours) ...now have various multi compounds in woods and long irons and Iomic grips in short irons and putter. works a treat!

Guys, I have bought stuff from Gamola before and he is top dollar.  Would recommend him, so if there's a problem can you let me know.

taz + pengwyn ...........have your sharpro grips turned up yet ??

If they have and youve fitted them ,have you got any opinions on them yet .

Still can't make my mind up after reading  the mixed reviews in this thread .

05/11/2007 at 17:06

Yipppppeeeee.

Today my Sharpro Corded Multi compound grips finally turned up.

I will shortly have all my clubs fitted with them ASAP.

Today I spent time in an English Hurricane solely to test the Golf Pride vs the Sharpro. Both of them Corded Multi Compound. I have one on my 4 and 7 iron.

And after much tooing and froing and oohing and ahhing I have come to a conclusion.

You cannot tell them apart. So much so I wouldn't be surprised if they are manufactured in the same factory.

Considering that the Sharpro are half the price of the Golf pride it doesn't take a genious to make the smart move.

One point though, make sure you get the right size for your hand. I have been playing with grips too  small for 3 years, a lesson learnt. I am now playing with mid size after trying normal with 3 extra wraps.

Yep - got mine today - they look great

.... and @ £2-30 each inc. postage - it's a no brainer

05/11/2007 at 17:42

They are Taz,

I deliberately used my 7 iron and 4 iron through the heaviest of the downpours without drying them to see if they slipped and they didn't. I wasn't even wearing an all weather glove.

I played crap due to the 40mph winds but that is not the grips fault.

05/11/2007 at 17:45
without trying to sound to dense - how do you no what size grips to get ?
05/11/2007 at 17:47
Wooders, I'd take a guess that the size glove you use might help.
06/11/2007 at 15:13

I just got this on the Tom Watson wedge, and its the best grip I have ever used,I will be ordering thse from the US for the rest of my clubs

I've been looking at purchasing a set of the Sharpro's - either in red or bright orange, just for something a little bit different.

I'm currently playing with tour velvet's on my irons - anybody used both and if so how do the sharpro's compare to these?

I've also got a Lamkin cord grip on my 5 wood which I like - so also considering the red lamkins. Anybody seen these in the flesh? Is the red a bright finish or more of a red-wine sort of red?

It's annoying how nowhere seems to stock either in the shops so I fancy doing a bit of research first.

Cheers.

26/11/2007 at 19:57
I've used them all, and just go back to Sharpro due to cost. I'm just regripping now, at 14 quid for 9 grips inc p+p.
27/11/2007 at 13:06

I have recently purchased a set of midsize sharpro grips from gamola golf, delivery took a couple of days but then again i did pay for standard shipping.

I can't believe the difference it has made to my golf swing by installing larger grips?!, my grip pressure seems to be a lot less and i can strike the ball better.

If your glove size is xl i would recommend trying a club fitted with a midsize grip!
