i've noticed that the best threads always end up 'locked'. Where are they locked up, is there a secret vault full of golden oldies ? Why not have a 'gold' section, made up of the best fall outs between gm members ?

come on, i think it's a winner.

A sort of "Dave TV" section of the forum where we could endlessly repeat the best spats ever?

Sounds like a laugh.

Let's see:

There was Don McBlade - he got a good few threads running.

MisterS3 was another.  (what was the name of that other site?)

Who else?

26/09/2008 at 21:12

Darryl!!

Not a wind-up merchant but I still remember his posts - especially when I get the WD40 out!

27/09/2008 at 09:39

what about "Golfbhuoy" ? Man, he would invite himself onto any discussion, turn it into a row and them swap sides like mussolini just to keep it going.

i miss that guy.

Longshot, Ace, & Worm. All good for a flame or two.

Hey i'm still here occasionally Bill Posting on MSG more than here of course.

As for banter with Longshot, GolfBhoy etc , i guess as winter approaches, normal service will resume on MSG, but we've all met up for games of golf all over the country and usually beers after - so it takes on a whole different level, when you know the person you are 'getting into it' with

anyone remember that complete knacker from cumbria who reckoned workington was a far better course than silloth ? Seem to remember him claiming he was a member of both but rarely played silloth as it "wasn't that good", (erm, why join it then ?).

When he joined he claimed to be off 16 i think but later tried to start a gm member's competition to see whose handicap dropped the most in one year and stated his handicap was 28 or something. Hahaha, he got caught out quite quick and then had a complete online breakdown !

vintage gm that mind, beats the "how many balls do you lose in a round" threads.

27/09/2008 at 13:58
P.A - i remember him well
27/09/2008 at 16:02
I had a my one and only spat with a knob head called "state the obvious", he wasn't here long but tried the best he could to insult people on a thread re: wearing caps in the clubhouse.
27/09/2008 at 16:03
GMac - always thought of you as a trouble maker
27/09/2008 at 16:33

MS3,

Do the words Pot, Kettle and Black mean anything to you?

27/09/2008 at 16:35
lol @ GMac
27/09/2008 at 16:40

Careful lads or Taz will lock this thread.

27/09/2008 at 16:51
Not before he has a last wee snipe
27/09/2008 at 18:26

i'm sure the bandit's original monicker was "hole out" but as you say, he had a couple of meltdowns and resurfaced as someone else. However, he was piss easy to spot and was rumbled straight away.

mind, i didn't know he was only 14 bless him. Makes sense now.

Iain - Thought you might still be lurking. Safer than posting at the mo

You haven't seen Maurice have you? He appears to be AWOL.

I'll check out MSG for the winter event. I'm in the mood for a good day out.

27/09/2008 at 23:16

Nah - i'm not a lurker. Had heard you were missing me so didn't want to disappoint

Forbsie? Yeh he's alive and well, although probably a bit worse for wear after the result today

Cliche is running the next event at Dundonald. Nov 2nd .He's wangled us a great price through his work Forbsie's  already paid in full.

The event is 'full' as of now, but get your name down ASAP on the reserve list.

While on the subject, although not on locked threads, whatever happened to Keiron.. we were just talking about him at Knaresborough yesterday.... really miss his GRAMMER so to speak.

28/09/2008 at 00:11
Not sure but I hope he's going through a good spell!

If you mean MauriceFlitcroft'sGhost... he was banned from GM a few weeks ago for "giving some back" to Boa in a thread. I know, I know... you couldn't make it up....

28/09/2008 at 10:59

I remember the monkeys Lionel and Big Monkey who were well known alter egos of famed GM members.

What happened to Gil Harding?

Really? That's a shame. He was certainly an active poster. To get banned for giving some stick to Boa well,,............................"weird" doesn't quite cut-it.

Somebody mentioned Gil Harding.

Remember his, posts that were sometimes, hard to read, but were, very often worth the, effort and it always, lookedlike, somebody had swapped the, space bar with the, comma keys on his keyboard,

Yes, banned a few weeks ago after a Boa-injected thread degraded into childish name-calling.

28/09/2008 at 23:09
Can't remember that.  Which thread was it Alan?
29/09/2008 at 07:45

Kate

ANY of mine lately I'm afraid!
