Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar have got a rather bizarre 'slap each other on the face' celebration going on at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans team event this week.

And the American duo were doing plenty of cheek slapping in the Friday Foursomes as they posted a best-of-the-day 67 to move up into contention on 9-under and just four strokes off the halfway lead set by Michael Kim and Andrew Putnam.

Check out a selection of their celebrations from Friday's round...

Everybody has got something, some sort of handshake, some sort of fist bump, some sort of tap on the hiney. I figured this was a good opportunity for me to slap Bubba in the face. Everybody wants to do that, and I talked him into it.

Watson hoped they could go really deep on Saturday to make up for their slow start when they return to Four-ball play.

At the end of the day I want a bruise. That means we're doing really good. When you think about it, we want you to be inspired to make some more birdies. So we basically slap each other in the face and say, ‘Come on, do another one, get another one.
