Guido Migliozzi: A career best finish on the European Tour, and on home soil!

Hi guys, Guido Migliozzi here!

I thought I would check back in with you guys after a number of weeks on the road. I am heading home today from Spain for a much needed week off before another stretch of events.

Before I get to rest I have a two day trip to Sweden planned with my clothing sponsor Galvin Green to shoot some of their new clothing range due for release later this year. I always love getting involved in opportunities such as this when my schedule allows. Galvin Green are constantly listening to feedback from their players and market trends, and they are coming up with some fantastic designs and technological advancements.

It was great to see fellow Galvin Green player Alexander Bjork win the Volvo China Open recently. He's been knocking on the door for quite some time now, so it was a matter of time before he sealed that maiden European Tour win. I think the win could open the floodgates for him over the next couple of years.

Galvin Green has some very exciting plans over the coming months, so I will share some of these with you when I next check back in. In the meantime, check out my sponsor Golfposer who showcase and stock all the latest Galvin Green range on their website.

I loved watching the Belgian Knockout last week and I'd like to take this opportunity to pass my congratulations on to Thomas Pieters on bringing a Tour event back to Belgium. I think unique, fun formats such as this are great for the game and make it a nice change to the normal strokeplay events we typically play out here.

From the outside looking in, it appeared to be a very successful event, and I think they got a deserved champion in Adrian Otaegui, a guy who is playing the golf of his life right now.

The format used by Thomas and his team was the same format that my management team Modest! Golf used for the Northern Ireland Open on the Challenge Tour last summer. It was pretty cool to see Thomas take inspiration for his event from my manager Niall Horan and the Modest Golf team.

Exciting formats like this are loved by the players and I hope to see one or two more added to the schedules in the future. I personally can't wait for the NI Open at Galgorm Castle from August 16 to 19, so if you're in the area I'd love to see as many of you there as possible! Tickets are also FREE - check out the website here.

In terms of my own game, I have been working very hard on all aspects of my game with my coach and my team, and I am pleased with the progress I am making.

If I can start to get the putter hot then I feel I can really kick on this season. I was fortunate to receive an invite to play in the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open a couple of weeks ago in my home country of Italy and was really pleased to record a top-30 finish, which is my career best to date on the European Tour.

My game felt good and it was great playing in front of friends and family, and while I was pleased with the finish I still know I can cut out silly shots and score even better. It was nevertheless a very successful week and I can take a lot of experience from that event into the rest of my Challenge Tour season.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you guys at GolfMagic.com for all the support I receive on a regular basis.

I love how GolfMagic is targetting the millenial golfers out there with its range of content on the website and its social media platforms, and how they're constantly looking to attract more players into our sport. I am very much looking forward to working with the Magic team even closer this season!

To thank you for your support, my sponsor Your Golf Travel - who have also been fanastic for me this year by organising all my travel and accomodation across Europe - are giving one lucky GolfMagic reader a £100 voucher towards a holiday at www.yourgolftravel.com

Simply like this article post on GolfMagic's Facebook and Instagram pages, or RT it on Twitter to be in with a chance of receiving the prize!

Anyways, that's about it for my latest report. I hope you are all out enjoying some golf now the weather is improving. The BMW PGA at Wentworth is sure to be a cracker this week, especially with Rory McIlroy in town, and I can't wait for Tiger Woods to get back in action at Jack Nicklaus' event the following week. Golf is in such a good place right now, and I'm proud to be apart of it all.

I will check back in with you guys soon. Feel free to message me on social media and I'll get back to as many of you as possible. Happy Golfing!

Guido
