Kelly Kraft missed the RBC Heritage cut on Friday, in large down to his tee shot at the par-3 14th striking a bird mid-flight and bouncing straight into the water hazard en route to a double bogey.

After initially telling reporters he "got screwed" as he missed the cut by just one stroke on 1-over par, Kraft seemed to take the bad break in stride, tweeting...

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (obviously) took the side of the reportedly unharmed bird, and fired a cheap shot to Kraft in the process.

"PETA is glad the bird is okay and sorry Kelly Kraft didn't advance, but that's not the bird's fault," said PETA senior VP Lisa Lange.

"Of course he would have advanced if he'd played better on other holes - practice, practice, practice!"

Animal encounters are all too frequent on the PGA Tour. Check this out...
