Luke Donald is one of the best when it comes to playing shots around the green. In his latest Masterclass video, the World No.1 explains his preparation for the greenside pitch downhill, when the ball is sitting down in ‘juicy’ rough.

He keeps it simple by ‘taking a walk’ to get the lie of the land and to discover if it’s downhill, uphill or breaking left or right, then he’ll position the ball in his stance and drop the club in behind it to ‘pop it up’ with no follow through.

Makes it look easy which, of course, it is - if you practice enough!
