Golf Practice Drills: compress ball
Body weight well forward

The compress ball drill is our third iron play drill in the Iron Play Practice Drills series.

Hitting a duff or fat shot can be a golfer's worst nightmare, so how do we avoid that horrible contact? PGA professional Sam Quirke gives us a simple drill for better ball striking.

At set up put the ball well back in your stance with as much as 90% weight pushing forward on to your left with the right foot turned over on its side.

Putting all your weight forward will give you less chance of hitting the ground before the ball with a steeper swing path.
