Who will etch their name alongside the likes of Ernie Els and Tiger Woods?

The PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is not an award to be sniffed at. Previous winners include John Daly in 1991 – the same year he won his maiden major – Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Stewart Cink, Brandt Snedeker, Rickie Fowler and current holder Keegan Bradley, who, like Daly, won the PGA Championship in his debut season. Some guy called Tiger Woods won it in 1996, too. And he’s barely done anything of note since…

Jonas Blixt

Swede Blixt clinched maiden PGA Tour glory at the Frys.com Open during the Fall Series and led all the rookies in adjusted scoring average on 70.24 – ranking 34th overall.

The colourful 28-year-old recorded five top-ten finishes and although he ended up 71st in the FedEx Cup, ended the season in a respectable tie for 34th in the official money list by earning little more than $2.5million.

He performed admirably on the greens ranking second in strokes gained putting, as well as second in holes per eagle and first in sand saves on 65.4%.

I would give the award to Charlie Beljan for last weekend alone, but in terms of the overall season, I guess it has to be John Huh.
