The Welsh Golfing Union has appointed two new Captains to take Wales into the New Millennium.
Andrew Ingram (left) has been appointed Captain of the Senior and Youth Teams and Stephen Jones (right) have been appointed Captain of the Boys Team.
Ingram, 40 who has taken over the Captaincy from Tony Disley, is a member of Royal Porthcawl, Cardiff and Cradoc Golf Clubs and currently plays off a handicap of two. He was runner-up in the 1978 Welsh Amateur Championship and has represented Wales at Boy and Youth level. Ingram will be the Captain of the Welsh Youth Team, which defends the European Youth Team Championship at Kilmarnock, Scotland in July. Andy has been Captain of the Welsh Boys Team between 1995-1999 and runs a successful Investment Advisory Business in the centre of Cardiff. Steve Jones the 1981 Welsh Amateur Champion has been appointed as Captain of the Welsh Boys Team. Steve graduated from Aberystwyth University in 1982 and has worked for Barclays PLC since 1983. He is currently the Local Business Manager at Barclays in Newport. He brings to the job a wealth of experience having represented Wales at senior level on nine occasions between 1981 and 1993.
