Born in Nice but of Italian parents, Sophie had a brilliant amateur career and gained her card to play the Ladies European Tour at the end of 1999. In five years she has 20 top 20 finishes, including a second place in the 2003 Spanish Open, and nine in the Australian Open earlier this year.
The blonde-haired green-eyed graduate of UCLA who gained a degree in marketing represents the prestigious Italian fashion companies Gruppo La Perla, Conte of Florence and Luciano Barbera.
Billed as "explosive and sexy", the Sandolo calendar is daring, yet tastefully photographed, though the nude front cover is sure to divide opinions among the golf community.
In Italy, the media has received it warmly and Sophie is already in demand for photo shoots and interviews. She will be appearing on TalkSport's Golf Show on Sunday night.
