Progen unveils woods, irons

Progen's new iron.

Progen clubs, recognised as great value for money among players restricted to a budget, has introduced its new Full Bore MM3 irons and woods.

With their mirror finish and traditional, mid-size head design, the irons claim to have 'a more positive response and refined feel' say the makers who are offering 3-iron to SW with steel shafts for £349.95. Graphite shafts cost £50 more per set of nine.

A lower centre of gravity built into the long and mid irons will help get the ball airborne sooner and improve ball flight, say Progen, while the short irons are cast from a softer grade steel for superior feel and have a higher centre of gravity for a lower, more controlled, trajectory.

Progen's MM3 driver.

At £99.95 each the new woods have been developed with CAD technology, bigger heads and thinner faces. The driver (10 and 12 degrees) has a longer than standard shaft while the 3-, 5- and 7-woods have wider hitting areas and camber soles 'to reduce drag from all lies.'

They're available only in right-hand models with the women's versions one inch shorter per club. For your nearest stockist call 0113 387 7700 or visit www.progengolf.com

*Callaway is to introduce a range of golf shoes for Europe in 2004 following a deal agreed with Tour Golf Group and announced this week at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
