Nike, Wilson Staff set for UK Golf Show

Nike and Wilson Staff has joined the impressive line-up of brands taking part in the UK Golf Show set to take place at Whittlebury Park next to the Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire from April 10-13.

Visitors will be able to try out the latest equipment on a series of outdoor ranges spread around the courses - consumer shows usually only offer unsatisfying nets to practice into - as well as test the latest putters and wedges in various short-game areas with bunkers.

There's also a chance to win big prizes for a hole in one and for one lucky golfer the opportunity to win £1million if they ace a particularly tricky par-3 across a lake.

The Nike Golf area will give visitors the opportunity to try the latest SasQuatch Tour driver and fairway metals used by Tiger Woods as well as the Sumo square-headed weapon preferred by several Nike Tour players including World No.9 K J Choi. SasQuatch SUMO irons and hybrids will also be available.

Wilson Staff's Tour truck, which services top stars like Padraig Harrington, will take a prime location at the show with its FYbrid Fitting team utilising the full-length driving bays.

Rick Hazelden, Wilson's UK brand manager says: “Wilson Staff are delighted to partner the UK Golf Show and is using the platform to kick off its 2008 FYbrid Fitting Tour. Hundreds of golfers suffer confusion over which clubs should make up their long game, so our FYbrid (fairway utilities) system has been developed to simplify the buying process. Throughout the show a full Wilson Staff demo team will be on hand to fit golfers for their perfect family of FYbrids.”

Among the other brands on show will be SeeMore - the putter makers behind Zach Johnson's US Masters victory last year.

Says SeeMore's Graham Webb: “With more golfers appreciating our unique RifleScope Technology, it's important to be able to continue to spend time with golfers of all abilities to enable them to become better putters. Doing this on a real putting green with real conditions, was too good an opportunity to miss."

Other events include the chance to watch the MacMillan Cancer Support Celebrity Classic, take part in long-driving and trick shot competitions and purchase all the latest equipment from the Nevada Bob retail areas.
