Top English golfers are aiming to grab a foothold on the lucrative PGA Tour this week, when the qualifying school reaches its second stage.
Already Brian Davis and Greg Owen have made it to the final stage from December 1-6 in California, with impressive performances in Florida last week alongside Soren Kjeldsen of Denmark and Phillip Price from Wales.
This week it's the turn of South African-born David Carter from Surrey, Michael Kirk, Richard Moir and Darren Prosser when they compete in a series of second stage events.
Carter, incidentally, revealed this week that his innovative money-raising venture in in conjunction with PowaKaddy for the Marie Keating Foundation breast cancer charity, had raised around £3,000.
Each time, the 32 year old former World Cup winner recorded a birdied or eagled a hole in competition play, it earned money for the charity. David notched up 247 birdies and six eagles on the European Tour, averaging around 12 birdies each tournament.
