Great deal more from ProQuip

Aquasoft Elite suit

ProQuip is best known for its innovative waterproof suits and weatherwear, which for more than 20 years have beenthe choice of the European Tour and many of its professionals.

Now it's launching two new models in April, for men and women, at a fraction of the normal price you'd expect to pay to keep dry and warm on the golf course.

The Aquasoft Elite, says North Berwick-based ProQuip's managing director Richard Head, offers 'unbeatable value' for jacket and trousers at a combined recommended cost of £149.

He says: "I wanted to make a waterproof that had all the features normally found in very expensive suits, but at a much more commercial price. By using high-tech fabrics exclusive to ProQuip and advanced production techniques, we have been able to create a suit that I believe offers unbeatable value for money."

The Aquasoft Elite is part of the spring/summer 2005 launches, which also include the women's Ultralite suit and an extensive Aquasoft Wind range of tops.

The jacket and trousers for the Elite are made with a lightweight, soft micro-fibre fabric that claims to be easy and quiet to swing in and with a Teflon HT coating for protection. It also includes zip-off sleeves, draw cord adjustment, concealed pocket in the jacket and zip fly and click lock belt on the trousers.

All are features on a suit for which you would expect to pay at least £250. Sizes are from small to XXXL with jacket colours including navy, red and yellow. Trousers are navy only.

Stylish Ultralite jacket

The women's Ultralite jacket and trousers, says ProQuip, feature a flattering, stylish cut, allowing greater freedom of movement in the swing.

Brand manager Pauline Dale - a textile design graduate and 11-handicap golfer - says: "We spent a lot of time talking to women golfers and specialist retailers who know precisely what women want from their golf clothing.

"The message that came back was clear: women want to look younger and wear something that flatters them. They don't want to look the same, which is why we have included more colour options in the range."

Made from a specially designed, exclsuive laminated fabric, the Ultralite is quiet, soft and functional.

Cost of the suit will be £179 and will be available in April in a choice of jacket colours including red/navy, coral, pale green, sky and lavender. Trousers are in navy.
