First, a short history lesson. Whenever I buy a new pair of golf shoes there's always a pain barrier to be crossed - a blistered toe or heel and which tends to manifest itself in a rubbish scorecard.
My golf bag resembles a First Aid station and instead of endorsing a famous manufacturer's brand I should be sponsored by the Red Cross or at least Boots The Chemist!
Heel plasters, pain killers and even a pair of previously tamed back-up shoes can lead to my bag being as heavy as a Everest sherpa's rucksack.
So it was with some trepidation that I stepped out in a pair of the latest Stuburt Profile golf shoes while loading up my bag with all the ingredients necessary to alleviate my normal 'new shoe symptoms'. I even wore them around the garden for an hour - much to the amusement of my spouse - in an attempt to 'break them in gently, dear.'
