Golfmagic is always game for a laugh and your recent submissions for our popular caption competitions have helped enormously to maintain the fun element we try to inject into the site.

And we have had plenty of support from potential sponsors anxious to join in.

Now, following the waterproof suit we gave away in November and the sweater in December, Galvin Green is offering one of it's latest Ace jackets (worth £229) to the sender of the best caption for this month's picture of a golfer on a fitness frame.

He runs a family paints and interiors shop in Smithstown, Shannon and plays off his nine handicap at Woodstock and Dromoland Castle Castle Golf Clubs, where Euro5million has been spent on drainage and introducing sand-based greens and extended tees.

"I'm delighted to find out I was the winner when I checked my emails," says Leonard who says he uses Mizuno irons and Titleist woods. He tells me the jumper is the first prize he has won since he was third in the captain's prize at Woodstock three years ago, though he has claimed prizes his local golf society.

He adds: "I have three brothers who are members of the famous links Lahinch on the west coast of Co. Clare where Phil Mickelson comes to warm-up the week before he play The Open."
