Rapture series from PING soon to hit the shelves.

The new Ping Rapture range

From September, Phoenix-basedPing is releasing its Rapture series of equipment to compliment the popular G5 line of clubs.

A new driver, fairway metals, irons and a range of hybrids all feature innovations which chief executive John Solheim describes as 'the latest advancements in feel, distance, forgiveness, consistency and sound.'

He adds:“Multi-material technology gives our engineers tremendous opportunities to improve all aspects of a golf club. Titanium, tungsten, super stainless steel, elastomer and graphite composites all have properties that can make a golf ball fly straighter and go farther."

The maximum capacity 460cc driver has a lightweight composite construction with weight re-positioned to create a higher launch angle and a lower spin rate. Both big-hitting Bubba Watson and Angel Cabrera have added the driver to their bags on Tour, with several other Ping players already putting them in play, too.

Rapture drivers will be available in 9, 10.5 and 12-degree lofts. Fairways woods in 18, 21 and 24 degree lofts both with a choice of TFC range shafts. The irons are wide-soled to deliver a lower centre of gravity to help get the ball airborne and reduce drag and perimeter-weighted with a lighter titanium face. They will be available in from 2- to 9-iron, as well as pitching, utrility, sand and lob wedge. Shafts include the Ping TFC 909i and CS-Lite steel.

Rapture hybrids combine a stainless steel body, tungsten nickel sole plate and super steel face with the same sloped crownintroduced in the G5 models which have captured rescue converts for the first time.

Ping's latest fairway metals are the only club in the series to be manufactured from 100% titanium with an internal weight pad positioned directly below the centre of gravity to improve performance.

Available in 3-, 5- and 7-wood version, golfers can choose between the standard Ping TFC 909F or The Aldila VS Proto 85 shaft.
