Hot out of the development studio, ProStroke Golf - World Tour 2007 has been launched at last. After months of anticipation British-based company, Gusto games, has created a British rival to EA Sports' popular game featuring Tiger Woods.

Europeans Sergio Garcia, Colin Montgomerie and Justin Rose are among the all-star cast you can call on to play upto 18 different courses including the De Vere Belfry's Brabazon and Lake Nona in Florida with commentary provided by Sam Torrance and Radio 5's controversial pundit Alan Green.

ProStroke's biggest advantage is that you're given more control than any other golf game on the market. It even allows you to groove your own swing. Rather than the traditional view from behind the golfer, you're offered a unique overhead option and you use the left and right analogue sticks to control swing-speed, while shifting your weight through the swing.

The system enables you to manufacturer every kind of shot, from those parachute flop shots Phil Mickelson has made his own, to huge, cutting drives or low ground-hugging punch shots. The dual control option delivers complete control of both shape and trajectory.

Says David Wiltshire from distributors Oxygen Interactive, “We wanted to simulate the golf swing without making the game as tough as real golf. Professional golfers can create a huge variety of shots, not just shots they choose from a menu before they play them."

ProStroke Golf also takes advantage of high-end graphics and uses camera angles more akin to live television coverage than 'first-person gameplay' helping create visually realistic simluation.

With a variety of settings, you can also guide your chosen golfer from enthusiastic rookie on the local circuit to No.1 earner on the Pro Tour.

ProStroke Golf is available on PS2, Xbox, PSP from HMV, Game and Play.com, at a recommended price of £29.99.

Look out for a full review of the game over the next few weeks.
