Prizes for August reviewers

Golfing nomad Lee Dossetter from Harlow in Essex was finding that his putting was proving a serious handicap to his game until he decided to leave his car outside and turn his garage into a practice area.

He invested £150 in a second hand Links Putt mat and now says his putting has improved 'by leaps and bounds'.

Golfmagic was so touched by his dedication that we decided to award him one of two monthly prizes we give for the best product review submissions during August. Along with 15-year-old Sam Hartfield from East Sussex he wins the latest ProStroke World Golf Tour Playstation game, which was released at the weekend.

Says Lee, a pharmacy technician at Lewisham Hospital, who isn't a club member but plays at least twice a month with his local society: " It's quick and easy to set up in 15 minutes and you can re-create any type of putt you can think of - left to right, right to left, uphill and downhill, even through a swale.

"I've got the three-metre version, which takes up a lot of room but it's one of the best things I have ever bought," says Lee who has been playing for seven years with a current society handicap of 23.

"It's a complete shock to have won your prize because I only wrote the review because I was so happy with the product."

Sam, a 15-year-old schoolboy from Wellshurst, sent in a handful of reviews of his equipment, including a Callaway Steelhead III fairway wood, which he described as his 'banker club', , a Titleist 905T Pro Titanium driver ('accoustically pleasing and easy to manipulate the ball flight') and Wilson Deep Red 2 Distance irons, which he says are 'long, forgiving and accurate'.

Europeans Sergio Garcia, Colin Montgomerie and Justin Rose are among the all-star cast you can call on with the Pro Stroke game to play upto 18 different courses including the De Vere Belfry's Brabazon and Lake Nona in Florida with commentary provided by Sam Torrance and Radio 5's controversial pundit Alan Green.

It's available on PS2, Xbox, PSP from HMV, Game and Play.com, at a recommended price of £29.99.
