Look out for new equipment from a range of UK-based manufacturers in 2007, including an electric trolley from Masters Golf in Weston-Super-Mare, multi-coloured putters frtom MD Golf in Northern Ireland and irons from Hippo in Burton-on-Trent.All were on show at the weekend's Golf Europe trade exhibition in Munich.

The Masters MT-E900 and MT-T900 trollies are a new departure for the makers of entry-level clubs and accessories. Sensors adjust to the pace of the golfer using the trollies, which are reputedly lightweight and quiet.

MD Golf in Ulster has built a reputation for good value irons, woods and wedges in the Superstrong range and plans to introduce its newly patented shock-absorbing IDT driver, Superstrong woods and Tungsten Titanium irons. Five mallet putters, including some with distinctive pink and orange heads and faces, should also cause a stir.

Hippo is hoping to make much hay from its association with winning Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam, with the introduction of XXL irons and XXL driver. The irons have been designed for beginners and improvers and include rescue-style clubs to replace the traditional 3- and 4-iron.

The shorter irons feature the popular undercut design for more forgiveness and to help get the ball airborne.A steel-shafted irons set will cost £169, graphite £199. Driver will be £69.99.

From the same stable, Lynx is launching a new Black Cat iron pursueing its unique adjustable weight technology, allowing golfers to custom-fit them to their own swing. In 2007 three interchageable weights have been refined to two fixed in the heel and a set of weights to switch for preference in the toe. Recommended prices are expected to be £349 for a set of steel shafted irons (3-SW) and £399 for graphite.

Lynx also aims to bring out a range of Prowler putters and Black Cat woods.

Many of these products and more - including those from TaylorMade, Callaway and Cleveland - will be on view and to try at the UK Golf Show which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from the November 24-26, 2006, with tickets priced at just £6 for children and £10 for adults. To order tickets either log onto www.theukgolfshow.co.uk or call 0870 352 222.
